Guest JBP
however for me personally that does mean I should use the 65.73 for best (fastest) performance, doesn't it?
mobilenvidia
Yes, 65.73 is a better over all driver, the 66 drivers are nVidia furiously trying to get a decent 2k5 score at the expense of functionality (more bugs)
Guest JBP
hm ok then how do I change back to the old ones now? Is using the normal way of uninstall and then new install of the 65.73 enough?
mobilenvidia
Yes, the fully modded INF I make is pretty comprehensive in removing any setting. So just uninstall using 'add/remove programs' then install new driver.

jabberwalky
I thought the Grafikcard must have at least 128mb to pass the Tests? So I never tried it with my 64mb Card (FX5600)
LSudlow
3DMark05 will run on 64MB cards, but so slowly it hurts. It's as much a test of your machine's texture swapping capability as it's 3D rendering capability.

jabberwalky
Tried it on my Notebook. Doesn`t start. Error because of "run out of grafic memory" (5600go 64 mb) :)

Almighty1
This is the problem I have with 3DMark05 Pro 1.1.0 under WinXP Pro XP2, DirectX 9.0c, Quadro 700 GoGL on a Dell Inspiron 8200....
mobilenvidia
Almighty1, try 66.93 with the Dell OEM INF that is included.
Bill
Almighty1, try 66.93 with the Dell OEM INF that is included.Try it with the modded Dell INF I made, it will save you some trouble.http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....d=10331&index=0 That link should work, please tell me if you have any comments or suggestions for the INF. Almighty1
I'll try it when I have some time since it's going to take me like 30 minutes as it will require 1 reboot to install the driver and 1 reboot to test it and then 2 more to go back to a later driver. 66.93 has a Dell OEM INF? I thought 66.93 was WHQL though. Anyways, could it be that the Quadro4 700GoGL doesn't support all DirectX 9.0c functions?
®®®
66.93 has a Dell OEM INF? I thought 66.93 was WHQL thoughThis was a strange release from MSI or Leadtek first i think. They forgot to remove the mobile OEM INFs and released it to the end-user for their desktop cards. Then NVIDAI made an official whql release later, if i remember right. A look in the drivers section for 66.93 might clear things up. :)
Almighty1
Hmm, so which 66.93 do I want exactly? I think I want the one with the mobile OEM INFs that are unmodified so that if that one doesn't work, then I know the problem isn't with Pieter's INFs. Almighty1
Okay, tried 66.93 with the DELL OEM INF included and I still get the same error with 3DMark05. I even uninstalled/reinstalled 3DMark05 and the same error pops up. Just checked the 3dmark05 forums at FutureMark and this is what people said about this error... The card does not support DirectX 9 features such as pixel and vertex shader 2.0, both of which are required for 3Dmark05. What cards are you guys successfully using with 3DMark05 because they said only these cards will work: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5100 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5200 SE (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5200 XT (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5200 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5200 Ultra (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce PCX 5300 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5500 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5600 SE (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5600 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5600 XT (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5700 LE (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5700 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5700 Ultra (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce PCX 5750 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5800 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5800 Ultra (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5900 XT (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5900 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5900 Ultra (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX 5950 Ultra (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce PCX 5950 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce 6200 (VS3.0 / PS3.0) GeForce 6600 (VS3.0 / PS3.0) GeForce 6600 GT (VS3.0 / PS3.0) GeForce 6800 LE (VS3.0 / PS3.0) GeForce 6800 (VS3.0 / PS3.0) GeForce 6800 GT (VS3.0 / PS3.0) GeForce 6800 Ultra (VS3.0 / PS3.0) Quadro FX 330 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 500 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 540 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 700 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 1100 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 1300 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 1400 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 3000 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 3400 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) Quadro FX 4000 (VS3.0 / PS3.0) Quadro FX 4400 (VS3.0 / PS3.0) GeForce FX Go 5100 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX Go 5200 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX Go 5600 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX Go 5650 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a) GeForce FX Go 5700 (VS2.0a / PS2.0a)
mobilenvidia
So anything lower and including the NV28M isn't going to work. Don't bother if you have a: Geforce2go or a Quadro2go Geforce4go 4xx or a Quadro 500goGL Geforce 4200go or a Quadro 700goGL Oh well Almighty1 it's time to squeeze in a Quadro go1400 (M70) into your machine. mobilenvidia
You get your self a chisel and big hammer and duct tape and it will fit. :)
Bill
If you manage to make it work, I will swap mine for yours. (minus the HDs) :) :) If I had gotten hear earlier I could have told you the card you are running is only DX 8.1 complient, which means it is already outdated. Since you have 3 I8200s you should be the first to try to fit a better card in yours, besides if you break it you can buy a better laptop with a GF 6800 go, you must have money for it you can buy 3 uber pimped out I8200s. Bill Edit: Ducktape usually works wonders for me....
