JRd1st
nVIDIA ForceWare 67.42 for Windows XP/2K 32bit Modded INF | Quickstart Guide Operating System: Windows XP/2K 32bit Driver Version: 67.42 Driver Date: 2004-10-26 (YYYY-MM-DD) Driver Size: 13.38 MB Driver Released by: DELL, NVIDIA MS WHQL Certificate: Setup Files Included: International Files: Comments Thanks to JRd1st / MVKtech.net for informing us about this release. OPINION *by LSudlow This release is notable largely because it's the latest (as of its release) WHQL mobile driver from Dell. It's a couple of weeks older than 67.02 and doesn't include the new LOD Clamp setting that's been solving so many problems. If you're looking for a "real" mobile driver, give this a try. But if you're happy with either the latest nVidia WHQL driver or the superb 67.02, there's no reason to switch. Original INF only supports: [DEV_0174] NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go [DEV_0175] NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go [DEV_0176] NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go 32M [DEV_0177] NVIDIA GeForce4 460 Go [DEV_0179] NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go 64M [DEV_017C] NVIDIA Quadro4 500 GoGL [DEV_0186] NVIDIA GeForce4 448 Go [DEV_0187] NVIDIA GeForce4 488 Go [DEV_0286&SUBSYS_01791028] NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go (Dell Mobile) [DEV_0286] NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go [DEV_028C] NVIDIA Quadro4 700 GoGL [DEV_031A] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5600 [DEV_031B&SUBSYS_019C1028] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650 [DEV_031B] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5650 [DEV_031C&SUBSYS_019B1028] NVIDIA Quadro FX Go700 [DEV_031C] NVIDIA Quadro FX Go700 [DEV_0324&SUBSYS_015F1028] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 [DEV_0324&SUBSYS_01961028] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 [DEV_0324&SUBSYS_019C1028] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 [DEV_0324] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 [DEV_0325] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5250 [DEV_0328] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 32M/64M [DEV_032C] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go53xx [DEV_032D] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5100 [DEV_0347] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700 [DEV_0348] NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700 [DEV_034C&SUBSYS_019B1028] NVIDIA Quadro FX Go1000 [DEV_034C] NVIDIA Quadro FX Go1000 Changelog/Release Notes ISSUES RESOLVED correct various flat panel issues Quadro FX Go1000:- DVD playback fails on Solidworks app profile. - Solidworks: New window load incomplete with artifacts.- Taskbar and icons follow the primary display when using MS property page.- Overlay is not visible on both displays when running with Video Mirror disabled.- The secondary display does not resume to the previous resolution.- Dynamic throttle enabled in battery mode only. ofelas
Just to clarify, the original/unmodified Dell 67.42 installs & runs fine on my M60/QFXG1000 with no issues. It is WHQL Certified, and is almost as fast as Dell 53.82. It was intended to be used with the Dell/FXGo5200 to correct various flat panel issues. Original NVDM.inf attached below. NVDM.INF ( 38.34k ) Number of downloads:
oVan
I've installed this driver with the original nvdm.inf to see if it solves the various probs I had with the modified 66.81 and 66.93 (hibernation fails, bsod). This one is very stable, very fast and quite cool also. Now I can run for 30 minutes on battery power instead of 5 minutes! :) Highly recommended for the "4200go (Dell Mobile)" on Latitude D800 & sibling Inspiron 8x00 series. oVan
ofelas
Anyone else tried this with either the modified INF or the original NVDM inf? I uninstalled Dell mobile NVDM 56.72 as it kept resizing my taskbar. Now, my Start Menu sometimes goes black with NVDM 67.42, wondering if it's just coincidental or whether there's a reason Dell Precision Tech Support still suggests the 53.82 for the Quadro FXGo1000 :)
LSudlow
I've tried it both ways (and also with my own inf) and it works fine. It's a good driver, but it lacks the latest features that are in 67.02.
ofelas
For some reason, the NV36 App_Perf seems to be missing in the NVDM.inf, or maybe I'm just tired...LSudlow, see my edited/added to post above... Out of curiosity, how many of these latest features will i be able to utilize with my QFXGo1000 + 67.42 that I don't have with the 53.82? Thx. ofelas
Finally, aimed specifically at the Quadro FXGo1000; also contains support for the GeForce 4 4200Go, FXGo5200, FXGo5650 & QuadroFXGo700. ftp://ftp.dell.com/video/R88801.EXE List of changes/enhancements - *DVD playback fails on Solidworks app profile. *Solidworks: New window load incomplete with artifacts. *Taskbar and icons follow the primary display when using MS property page. *Overlay is not visible on both displays when running with Video Mirror disabled. *The secondary display does not resume to the previous resolution. *Dynamic throttle enabled in battery mode only. NVDM.inf is attached; this one seems to be more Quadro specific. //edit: ofelas, i merged your post and added the information you provided. :) NVDM.INF ( 31.51k ) Number of downloads:

®®®
:) thanks for the info, will add that later :) can somebody upload the crunched driver?
ofelas
How do I upload a "crunched" driver? I'll do that for both versions of these 67.42 drivers if you tell me how...
Bill
I think he means upload it in the special z-zip format or whatever..... Edit: How you would upload the whole driver I do not know, as its definely bigger than the 100 KB size limit...
mobilenvidia
FYI, I saw this the other day. This is exactly the same version as the other 67.42 released earlier. Only difference is version.txt.
ofelas
I noticed that all the three NVDM.inf files are of different sizes....
®®®
You could use WinDiff to determine the differences between these textfiles (or the whole folder). If somebody can make sure, that really only the INFs are different, i would just link the to the INFs you attached, ofelas.
®®®
*DVD playback fails on Solidworks app profile. When reading and without having a look at the driver, i would also think that the nvdcc.app config file must be different (the file where all the Quadro profiles are stored). Is that true? ofelas
I'm not sure...however, I found this out - When I used the 67.42 meant for FXGo5200, I had very slow response times when watching a DVD on an external monitor (dual display). When I used 67.42 released for the QFXGo1000, performance is back to normal. Hanen't tried the 67.42 released for QFXGo700 yet...
®®®
The QuadroFXGo700 and FXGo5200 INF are the same. QuadroFXGo1000 and FX Go5200 are different. But the strange thing is that the difference are added settings only for the Go5200 and Quadro Go700, not the QuadroFxGo1000 :)
ofelas
Weird...wonder why it works so much better on my system... :)
mobilenvidia
The files are also the same, so what is a foot ?
ofelas
A foot would be 12 inches...not sure about metric :)
ofelas
I give up...Dell just released their "latest" driver version AO5 Dec 02, 2004, but the NVDM.inf is dated Jul 12, 2004, and it's a 61.76 driver for the QFXGo700 & QFXGo1000. This driver is NOT WHQL, so I can't install/test it. Download here - ftp.us.dell.com/video/N36GDA05.EXE Fixes/enhancements - Updated Maya Certified Driver NVDM is attached Any meaningful differences that one can see? tweaks for stability/performance? Would this be SP2 & DX 9.0c compatible? Stick to NVDM_67.42 or switch to NVDM_61.76? I can't wait until I don't have to use Dell's WHQL drivers... NVDM.INF ( 24.53k ) Number of downloads:
LSudlow
Ofelas, no, there are no tweaks of any kind in that Dell inf. It's all standard stuff. Sorry!
ofelas
Thanks for the reply..I can't use the Dell 61.76 anyway, as work INSISTS I use WHQL drivers....and the Dell 61.76 is not WHQL.
®®®
INSISTS So they can sew nvidia if anything goes wrong? :) Btw using any of the modified INF will "destroy WHQL status" as it's obviously not certified by Microsoft (and of course nvidia).
