Guest BravoGolf
Hello. I am using the Dell Inspiron 8500 2Ghz laptop with 256MB of RAM. I have a geforce 4200 Go 64MB graphics card, yet for some strange reason no game I play displays bump mapping....I assume this is not meant to be the case? All the games settings are correct and i've the most updated graphics driver from the Dell website. Please please reccomend me a driver on this website that can help (not just bench marking....anything!) my graphics card :)
Bill
You should try some 66 or 67 drivers.... The 66.93 is a good official one, as far as the 67 drivers go, I have only tried one which is the 67.50 and it works good. The 66.81 drivers are really fast. You could also go to this thread and scroll down till your find my Dell INF for 66.93 that you could try. http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showtopic=6322 As allways use the insructions from here to install the driver, If you use that Dell INF 66.93 I think you have to use the device manager to install it. I always do. Anyway try some drivers and if you try my INF please tell me how you like or don't like it in the thread I posted it in... Bill P.S. As far as graphics bugs go, some of the 67 drivers might have fixed them...
Guest Guest
Thank you very much Bill :) I'll install the drivers tonight and let you know.
Guest BravoGolf
Erm....right. I downloaded the 66_93 driver via the nVidia website, I extracted the content and then I assume had to copy in the modified inf file you reccomended (the 66.93 one). Well I did that, expect the modified file did not overwrite any other files, it was simply added to the extracted data (is that correct?) Anyways, I then proceed to uninstall my old drivers and installed the new ones and although there some weird colour issues, they seem to have fixed themselves after I reboot the computer.... I think I have installed the modified drivers incorrectly....can anyone help?
®®®
Use this driver: http://download.laptopvideo2go.com/nvidia/...es/6693whql.exe +use this INF: http://laptopvideo2go.com/infs/65series/6693inf/nv4_disp.inf Make sure you overwrite any existant INF (there is at least on INF in that package, delete them all!!), then put in the modified one. Guest BravoGolf
Erm...I'm sorry about this...there's like 31 INF files there, 2 in the root folder and 29 in the oeminfs file....do I delete them all?
Bill
You delete all of the OEM and the 2 original ones, there should be no infs in the driver folder. Then you can put in Pieter's INF or the one I modded, then install it with the device manager. Bill
