I am getting this same error on build 1421, the driver simply wont install.

I also hit another problem before I got that far. The inf file wouldn't find any device to install the driver till I made this small edit:

You have:

[Manufacturer]%NVIDIA% = NVIDIA.Mfg

[NVIDIA.Mfg]

It should be

[Manufacturer]%NVIDIA% = NVIDIA.Mfg,NTamd64

[NVIDIA.Mfg.NTamd64]

After I corrected this it atleast tryed to install and gave me the error queted in the post above.

I haven't been able to get 70.80 to install yet, however I was able to get the 66.96 to install after adding the NTamd64 stuff, it wouldn't see my Geforce 4 440 G0 64m before adding that.

I some how was able to get the 70.80 driver to install on build 1289 of xp x64, but I lost the inf I edited a month ago, and I can't seem to edit one that works again, though it didn't really work, all the nvidia display poperties gave an error message about a missing file when I viewed them, so I didn't edit the inf perfectly I guess, heh.

I hope I can figure out how to fix the inf for 70.80 or you can figure it out mobilenvidia;)
