v76.10 | LV2Go Information file

  • desktop driver for 2K.XP
  • leaked today at Station-Drivers.com, but repacked due to the size reduction advantage we offer (23MB Original -> now 14 MB)
  • more & detailed informations in the LV2Go Information file
  • supported GPUs: see INFs (link is in the .NFO file)

:: OPEN ISSUES

As with every released driver, version 76.1x of the Release 75 drivers has open issues and enhancement requests associated with it. What follows is a list of issues that are either not fixed or not implemented in this version. Some problems listed may not have been thoroughly investigated and, in fact, may not be NVIDIA issues. Others will have workaround solutions.

:: ISSUES RESOLVED

Significant issues resolved in driver version 76.1x

:: OPINION [*by LSudlow]

76.10 seems to be an updated and less buggy version of 75.90 in most respects. (See my review here.) It benchmarks even slower than 75.90 on my 64MB Go5200, but users with 128MB or more are reporting excellent results, especially in 3DMark05. If you like to try new drivers and have at least 128MB on your video card, 76.10 definitely is worth a look. For the rest of us, I'd stick with 71.84 for now. It's a top-notch driver, if you haven't yet tried it.

Any initial impressions with this driver set? Does it appear more stable that the 75 series?

This driver seems stable to me. The SLi clocking bug is gone.

Actually, the 75.90's were stable for me when I installed them with no coolbits tweaks. Something about the coolbits is causing weird problems. I'm gonna just start using nVTweak again. :)

This set is a little slower with my SLi system but that may be an SLi thing so . . .

Thanks all, I'll give 'em a try.

So far game performance is way slower versus 71.84. Anyone else notice? Noticeable slowedowns with the Freedom Force Demo and Lord of The Rings-The Battle For Middle Earth.

Also noticed that DVD's will not display in Windows Media Player 10, with VRM enabled. I can hear the sound but no picture. :)

ZZTOP77, I get the same thing, none of my vids run, so I have gone back to 71.90s I think. I was using the older .INF file, and may try again with the newer 30.66 (I think thats right).

Running a Go 5700. Another thing, I can't get the VMR running on this vid card, on any drivers.. this might be more relevant in another thread, but does anybody else not have VMR working?

All,

I hope I don't offend anyone, but I think I need some help. I've been lurking for a long time, and have used Pieter's modded infs with great success in the past.

However, after 61.77, these modded infs no longer work for me. When I should be seeing a Windows login screen, I get a black screen with a .5" high, full screen width white bar (some multicolor spots in it). That's it. I've tried just about every driver since 61.77 with the same results.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Is it something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm on a Dell M50 with a Quadro4 700 GoGL. WinXP SP2....

There's a thread with more user who report no success after 61.77 . Search for black login 61.77 and you'll find it.

Well, I did the search as you suggested.

It seems that some people had success with adding the ModesetBlankDelay to either 1 or 150, but unfortunately, neither helped me.

It appears that there are others that were not able to get drivers past 61.77 to work either, so maybe its not just me! :)

Maybe its just not meant to be!

Thanks for your help.

Toshiba P25-S507 with Go5200 with 32MB

reinstalled 76.10 with 3066P inf

Still no video in WMP 10.

Went into tools/options/performance/advanced

change video mixing renderer from overlay to high quality

and Voila - can waste hours watching my vids again.

They both should work, but High Quality mode is ---ah--- higher quality, so your luck ran in the right direction.

From the WMP 10 help file:

Use high quality mode

Specifies use of VMR7 in YUV mixing mode. This mode improves color accuracy, deinterlacing, and scaling on newer graphics/video display cards.

Installed 76.10 with the 30.66 P.

During the installation process, the screen turns into lines of various colors. A forced shutdown and start is normal, and the installation is successful.

Another issue is that the standby mode does not work when the laptop lid is shut. A forced shutdown is needed to reboot the laptop.

Anyone else experience these issues? Anyone with a resolution for either or both of these issues?

Thanks.

I forgot to mention in my post earlier that another problem arises when I do a forced shutdown when standby does not happen when I open the lid of my laptop. When I restart my laptop, the modem (3Com) driver becomes unusable and I have to uninstall and install the driver.

Finally I found another C810 user!!! :) From my experience, the latest driver that can make my laptop recover from standby is 71.80. I have no luck with any driver above that, in spite of numerious tweaks on INF file.

I have not tried 76.10 yet, but will do that soon. However I doubt it will support the standby mode for C810. Did you experience any other difficulties with this driver?

Look for this in the INF

[MapOSD3ToNV_2]
HKR,, MapOSD3ToNV,                   %REG_DWORD%,    2

Change this to 3.

Uninstall driver using add/remove programs, reboot

Now with the modified INF (with change above), reinstall driver using either when Windows reboots point the new device found to the driver or update driver method to install driver.

This should fix your standby problem, as this is what I need to set it to for my lappy to resume.

Make sure you uninstall driver before applying the change as it won't work just installing over the top (I know as I have tried this)

Hope this helps.

Coooool! It works!!! :)

I guess settting MapOSD3ToNV=2 only works in 71.80.

Thanks a lot. Cheers! :)

The way that setting works changes with drivers as oftern as I change my undies and that is fairly often :)

Seeing I have this problem and I make the INFs, I reckon it should be =3 by default in all drivers from now on.

What says you guys ?

:) ok :)

It was worth the try to have the right value included for all cards. Now what we need is an online petition, to force NV to not change MAPOSD3 with every driver release :P
