sn0wl
This 4.1.102.1095 seems to be an update over 4.1.2.71, you have to do some stuff manually. So have you tried it? 1) run setup.exe to install 2) run patch.reg and allow to merge into registry 3) copy AR5211.SYS in "4.1.102.1095 Update" folder to: %systemroot%/system32/drivers And thank you anyway! Almighty1
4.1.102.1095 is actually a full driver that is for IBM so the install utility won't install, this is the only way to install and it works since I made the installation package above. Almighty1
Atheros 4.2.0.82 - dated August 30, 2005 Here are some release notes: Driver New features supported in this release are: Regulatory Enhancements (802.11j, US 4.9GHz public safety) Support Microsoft home AV streaming requirements. Power Management Improvement PCI-Express WLAN chipset (XB62) support Applications The new features supported in this release are: MSI Installer for XP 32-bit Windows Unicode Applications PEAP with client certificate Configurable scan list No reboot required for software install when there?s no GINA Support for Regulatory Enhancements (802.11j, US 4.9GHz public safety) Secure Session Resume Locked Profiles A word of warning: Oddly, the installation program disabled the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching, and changed CTRL-ALT-DELETE behaviour. Is that normal for the Atheros installations? Anyway, to restore those functions, run "regedit" and navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, and delete the entry "GinaDLL". sn0wl
Thank you once again. Btw I want to ask you something; which Atheros chipset product are you using? I have Gigabyte MiniPCI with Atheros chipset AR5005GS and in client utility there is an option to select Transmit Power Level from 10 to 100. The problem with mine is even if I select 50 or 63 or 100, it won't go up more than 30 when I'm connected and check info from Current Status tab Advanced button. Do you have the same thing or have any idea what it might be? I read somewhere it might be country related. Or maybe it is 30 max with the card itself. I have no idea which Atheros chipset I have as it's the MiniPCI cards that are OEM to DLink in their 774 wireless router. The frequencies in Mhz/Ghz are country related. I couldn't get the SuperG 108Mbps working either.
