hazart
Hello, boys and girls! After two years of waiting, here comes the real deal! YAMAHA AC-XG Audio Device (NEC OEM) Driver 6.13.10.3159 WHQL Compile Date: 2004-5-14 Digital Signing Date: 2004-6-17 18:43:25 (GMT) Release Date: 2004-10-25 Digital Signature: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher Just installed on my Windows Server 2003 and it works well with TVS 1.00.07. :) Change log and screenshots: Attached below. Information (Japanese, but somewhat readable :) ): http://search.casnavi.nec.co.jp/module_sea...?MODULE_NO=5032 Download: http://search.casnavi.nec.co.jp/support/pc...32/ymf_3159.exe Install: Setup not included; install using the "Update Driver" feature of Windows Device Manager. You then have to specify the INF location, like installing L2VG modded display drivers. Notes: There are many INF files. I picked one at random it intalled OK. However, there was no power save setting panel in the YAMAHA AC-XG control panel. Maybe I have used the wrong INF? Nothing more to say really. Enjoy! :P Change_Log.txt
hazart
Em, my sound card is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2485&SUBSYS_00011179 but there is no matching driver included in this release so I am using :) PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2445&SUBSYS_81541033 Don't know what the difference is between the two. It seems to be compatible. :) Strange, strange... The specification has my model...
®®®
Great find :) My IDs: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2485&SUBSYS_00021179&REV_02\ Will install this evening and report. Intersting changelog indeeed :) Thanks for that.
hazart
Wish you could dig the power settings panel out! :) The power setting tab is missing as shown. EDIT: The screenshot is in Chinese... :)
®®®
Short info: The included INFs in the 59 release does not include my and your DEV&SUBSYS IDs. I guess they are OEM NEC INfs only: YAWN(EC)xx.INF Toshiba's driver 2152 and 3152 included YAWT(oshiba)00, 10, 11, 12 (2152) and 90, 91, 92 (3152) The settings for each DEV_SUBSYS ID are different, that's why they have one INF for each model. I guess using the last working INF from the generic Yamaha (or Toshiba) release (plus editing the version number in the INF) will do it. Maybe it brings back the Energy Save Panel (usefull!). I will try to use the orignal setting from the 3152 release and install and see what happens here. This release is quite unusual including a full 31xx changelog and more DOCs. Alot of fixes, though not all affect us (ALi etc.)
hazart
Yup, I think we'd better stick to Toshiba's 3154.
®®®
I created an INF and installing and sound is OK (Energy Control Panel also available). I used original Toshiba settings from 3152. The XP Sound and Audio Volume Control Panel looks now a bit less crowded, but that's ok.
hazart
Well, I will go back to 3154 WHQL. :)
®®®
Here's the custom made INF for 3159 with compatible settings for DEV_2485&SUBSYS_00021179 (Toshiba 5205-S703/4). hazart, edit my DEV&SUBSYS ID to the one you have and install. Should work as i used a mix of settings from the generic INF & Toshiba. You might uninstall the old driver, do a reg search for 'YAM' and delete old settings of SoundCard first :) YAWT91.zip
hazart
Thanks a lot man! I'll have a go tonight! :)
sn0wl
This driver was problematic with TVS for me. In some of mp3's, I had a buzz sound. Also Bass and Treble settings in volume control panel were acting weird, like sudden changes instead of smooth. Rolled back to 3157 and problems solved. hazart
3159, NEC, modified 3157, Yamaha, non-WHQL 3154, Toshiba, WHQL I have been using 3154 most of the time and I haven't had a single problem with it. From the changelog, it seems 3157 has fixed a lot of things. 3159 has to be modded to work. Which version would you recommend, or, it doesn't really matter? Sorry for resurrecting this fairly old discussion. Edited April 22, 2006 by hazart
sn0wl
Well I have been using 3157 and quite happy with it, no problems at all.
