What follows is a list of issues that are either not fixed or not implemented in this version. Some problems listed may not have been thoroughly investigated and, in fact, may not be NVIDIA issues. Others will have workaround solutions. v78.03 NVIDIA Recommendations? The GeForce 6800 Ultra 512MB works in single card mode with Apple 30 inch HD Cinema panel. However, an issue has been discovered when running the GeForce 6800 Ultra 512MB card in SLI mode with an Apple 30 inch HD Cinema display. This is due to an interaction between the GPU, the application, and the ability to scale to nonnative panel resolutions of the Apple display. All GeForce 6 series GPUs will work with Apple 23 and 20 inch HD Cinema displays in single GPU mode.NVIDIA recommends using the GeForce 6800 Ultra 512MB with the Apple 30 inch HD Cinema Display line only in non-SLI modes.? Single display modes such as TV only, DFP/LCD only or CRT only provide the best performance and quality from Windows Media Center Edition. Dual display modes such Dualview and nView Clone and Span modes are not recommended.? When using the trial version of WinDVD 6 from InterVideo.com, you may experience TV or DVD playback problems in Windows Media Center if you change resolutions during video playback. This is most often seen when switching from windowed to full screen mode. This problem does not occur with the latest full OEM versions of WinDVD or with other Windows Media Center qualified DVD decoders.? If you perform a clean driver installation (no previous NVIDIA drivers installed), you must reboot your computer. If you do not reboot, the predefined application profiles will not be activated and you may experience application stability problems. NVIDIA Issues?Single GPUGeForce 7 Series? GeForce 7800 GTX, Windows XP: When changing to a resolution higher than 1024x768 in Need for Speed Underground 2 on 1920x1200 widescreen flat panel, the application attempts to next resolution it has above 1024x768, which is 1280x960 an supported by most flat panels. A known workaround is to manually add the mode 1280x960 from Custom Timings control panel and then continue to select the resolution needed.? GeForce 7800 GTX, Windows XP: The desktop becomes shaky when changing the resolution to 1920x1080 on a Viewsonic VP231? This issue is resolved by downloading and installing the game's 1.1 patch available at http://www.vugames.com/file_list.do?gamePlatformId=1839. Disable vertical sync within the World of Warcraft in-game video options.? Enable "hardware mouse" acceleration and disable "smooth mouse" within the World of Warcraft in-game video options. Guest Guest
I get a nice big BSOD blue screen every time I try to install 78.03 with your INF. Yes, there is a problem with this combo- When I install the 78.03 (tried 3 times) they dont load right, I don't get the BSOD but something is messed up. It doesn't look like everything gets installed properly. I never had a problem like this before- weird, went back to the 78.01 And yes I removed all other drivers files with DC before I install new drivers. Good Luck & Thanks for all the work here :)
mobilenvidia
I DLed 78.03 and tested it and then installed with the modded INF and it worked just fine. Guest blackcat
Hi, I get an error instlling the 78.03 drivers too and I have never had a problem installing your drivers before. mobilenvidia
:) Hmm, just tried unistall (where I do get an error, had to uninstall twice for it to work), then I reinstalled 78.03 with my INF. It installs just fine for me (I'm writing this with the driver installed) I wonder if it's a GPU related issue what are you using ?
mobilenvidia
Also tried setup.exe install and this works as well. We are talking 32bit driver here arn't we ? I can't test 64bit. What you can try if the above fails is, get the original INF and replace my modded INF with it. Then install again, you'll need to force a GPU, try something that is close to your laptop GPU, ie if you have go6800, choose 6800. This should determine if my INF is to blame. Guest Guest
Using 6800 ultra & yes, 32 bit driver. I have a Dell XPS2
mobilenvidia
Try the above please, do an install with 78.03 with original INF. (not modded one) Then Force an install using the 6800 Ultra (no harm will be done) If this installs then my INF is to blame if this also fails then the driver is to blame. Guest speaker
Yes, The only way i got these to install is though display panel-adapter-update driver. Any idea's on why setup files on 78.03 would not allow us to install? These seem to ave great IQ as well as the 78.01. I did notice GTA San Andreas is lookin good - 78.03 was subpose to have fixed the texture issue. Thanks for the help!
