®®®
Thanks heazky, the Belgium people seem to be quite Laptop interested :) Keep the numbers coming. I will implement them in the new drivers threads soon.

(= Heazky =)
Update: Drivers 78.30, 81.40 and 80.82 are added. I wasn't able to test more, because I went over my down-&upload limit and am on smallband now :) .
®®®
i know what you mean beeing on "smallband" :) also had that for more than a year (1GB cap). Currently no internet at home. One unregularly, unsecured WLAN AP out of 10 secured ones i can receive in my appartment :)
(= Heazky =)
Hehe yeah. I'm sharing the cable here with 4 other students, and one of them has been using bittorrent the whole time (I do such things at university: way faster :) ). Now we're all on the WLAN of the neighbours :) , because our connection has become way to slow. Anyway, back on-topic. i'm currently testing the overclock capabilities. The driver used is the very stable v78.30. Results are promissing and will be posted soon.
(= Heazky =)
Update: Added 78.82 with new INF and OC'ing results. Yay! Finally again on broadband! Just downloaded all new drivers. Results are following, stay tuned :)
terror_adagio
(= Heazky =), What were your default clocks?
(= Heazky =)
The default clocks are 300MHz for the VPU and 600MHz for memory (300MHz DDR). Added to the startpost.
terror_adagio
360/655 is a great OC, we both have the same GPU, except I have 128MB. I am at 330/640 so far, so I should be able to get close to your's hopefully. No artifacts with 360/655? No extra cooling? The GPUs we have seem to be downcloked from 375/675. (= Heazky =)
Yeah. Currently these are the highest stable clocks i tried (no artifacts, no overheating, no extra cooling). Memory is very max, if i try to raise it more, i get lockups in some benchies. Tho I can prolly get the VPU higher. I also noticed the standard cooling of this machine is great. Not sure if I'll mod the notebook to get better results, as this is my working horse for university (Multimedia & Communications Technology + ICT). The best VPU OC's i've ever got are with my desktop Radeon 9700@400/680 (default 278/556), heatpipe cooled

But you can download programs like PowerStrip or RivaTuner to overclock your graphics card. (= Heazky =)
Looks like I wasn't logged in the previous post. Has33, you can use Pieter's Performance INF's too with these drivers, so you don't have to do the settings manually.

Guest Guest
Sorry to ask a dumb question. I searched around but can't seem to find a answer for this.. Is it possible to upgrade the GeForce Go 6600 64MB on Tecra S2 to a GeForce Go 6800 256MB from dell laptops? 64MB VRAM just isn't good for gaming anymore. F.E.A.R. runs crappy too... Bill
I would be very :) if that worked. Only would work probably if it was MXM, and I don't know of any Dells that use it yet. Finding pictures of the cards should show you the answer. (look on ebay and/or dell/toshiba) My bet is the cards are shapped very differently from each other, for starters. You are right All the GeForce Go on ebay look very different from the one on Tecra S2 (I don't even know if that GeForce Go 6600 64MB is a MXM-based card) The only people who can upgrade this are probably the service center dudes, but they need to order parts too...and I doubt Tecra S2 can use any better cards other than the 128MB GeForce Go 6600... This kind of laptop have their video card inserted in the motherboard. if you want to upgrade to a 128MB version you need to replace the motherboard :)
