I have the following specs:

Toshiba Satellite Pro 2100

Windows XP Pro SP2

Geforce4 420 Go

Current driver for above GPU: nv4_disp (6.14.10.4591 - nVIDIA Detonator 45.91)

I want to get the best performanc I can from my humble machine for games like half-life2 and counterstrike:source, but not at the cost of stability.

I'd like not to lose dualview and DVD-out and DVD quality if at all possible.

I would appreciate suggestions as I'm a little confused by all these driver numbers on the forum.
