New NV control panel with FW 81.33+

Found these together with Rewt (H4ck 3D), while poking around 81.82.

Some folk are having problem getting this to work, here are some tips:

Make sure you have our 81.82 driver file !!

This has the files uncompressed inside it.

If you are using my modded INF make sure it's v30.90+ this has a working help (awsome feature) and copies the files to the Windows dirs !!

This is very important !!

Reinstall if any changes are made, I may make some as I find new things.

The original driver has the files compressed and it won't work !!

Get the driver here: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showtopic=7942

Uncompress this somewhere now install driver.

After installation and reboot, goto the dir where you uncompressed the driver files.

In here should be nvcplui.exe, run this and you should get what you see below.

If you find that there are no settings in the new control panel.

Install another driver first then install 81.82.

It's also recomended that you install 81.82 with the provided setup.exe.

This seems to install the new control panel and all it's help files properly.

REMEMBER THESE ARE BETA DRIVERS, I can't guarantee success.

To get the new Control Panel you need to run nvcplui.exe

You'll be greated with this:

nvcplui1.jpg

Then you'll have some choices and here are some more pages.

The rest is up to you :)

Pieter if I right-click nvtuicpl.cpl and click open it brings me to the nView Desktop manager. I think it depends on whether or not you have nView installed to which control panel will open up.

My bad for this one, only running nvcplui.exe will get the new CP.

There are too many things going on here brain overload

I don't seem to have that option, the system try option as shown in the last picture "NVIDIA Control Panel". How did you get to that?

Thanks! :)

Any idea how to enable that overclocking page? I can get all the others, but not that one.

Are you all running the exe from the driver folder or is it being ran from the systray icon like H4ck 3D?

Thank you! :) :)

I made a shortcut from the drivers folder and put it on my desktop. I don't have it in the system try either, but I have a non-functioning link to it in my right-click menu.

There might be a chance the Control panel is empty, if so then install another driver then without uninstalling run setup from 81.82 and it then should work.

Sorry for the confusion guys. That option in my system tray is actually using a program I am developing called NVTray. The original nVidia tray icon doesn't have a link to it as far as I know.

Whoops yeah, I realized that after I visited your page. lol

:) :)

I used to be able to get powermizer settings on the nvcplui executable, now after I installed it using setup, I can't get to it anymore.

I was able to have both CP's on the task bar yesterday morning.

I could switch between both (only 1 could be open at a time)

But I havn't been able to do this again. :)

Wasted many hours fruitlessly trying.

What comes up on the new CP seems to change with reboots and how it was installed.

It is still very beta, by the looks of it.

But it looks very promising.

When do you think they'll release it?

I remember the blog site you posted about the 8x.xx series driver, had the guy mentioning about 2 weeks time in October.

Also, do you have an issue with Standby? When I resume from it, it is very very slow. To the point where I have to shut the notebook off.

I would think maybe the 85 series will get a fully working CP panel.

I'd say the 7x00 series will get full support in this series.

I can't see any reference to the 7800 in SLI inside the help files, so this will need updating before official release.

Who knows with nVidia, lets hope it's soon.
