mobilenvidia Posted October 25, 2005 Report Share Posted October 25, 2005 Is the laptop hot, it could be throttleing the speed down to stop if from cooking it's self. Try turning off laptop, let it cool off, then reboot and go straight to game and have test with the speed. If it's fast, play it for a while and see if it all of a sudden slows up this will be sure sign of the internals slowing down to keep the parts from frying. Does the problem occur at lower or non-widescreen resolutions ? Does this problem occur when you run benchmarks such as 3DMark05 ? If the problem only occurs in CS then maybe Steam or CS is the issue ? Steam recently pushed out a big update that broke support for some cards by incorrectly detecting the DX hardware level. I am not sure if Counter Strike was affected but I know DoD:Source and HL2 were on my PC. A later update fixed the issue for some. Have you updated recently ? Do you have a fast, unlimited cable connection and a registered Steam account ? If so, simply delete your Counter Strike and Steam folder, d/l Steam installer and run it.
