Guest Zaui
Hi. Im experiencing some graphics issue when watching movie trailers and playing games. If the current screen contains color gradients or any progressive shading, you would see the solid lines of each colors. It's like a monochromatic version of a rainbow. The shade of colors dont blend smoothly. I have the latest version of the driver. I think it's 82.10. I'm using gforce 6800 on a i9300 laptop. Please advise on how to fix this. Thanks! LSudlow
There are two (that I know of) reasons for this to happen. One is overcompression on the part of whoever created the video. You can verify if that's the case by watching something that you know is high quality, like a DVD. The second, and more likely, reason, is that your screen color depth might be set at 16 bits rather than 32 bits. 16 bit color can't produce as many colors, hence the banding that you're seeing.
