mattman
These should work on a go6400. Make sure you replace the original inf with the modded one.
grl0218
ok I installed the 81.98 and the modded INF. after reboot, I can't get my display LCD on the laptop to work anymore. its like the backlight comes on but the bios or windows screen don't come up. I thought the LCD was turn off so i tried a VGA cable and a monitor. but it didn't work either. Now I have a broken Laptop screen or something. I'm going to try to take out the 6800 ultra of my Dell XPS Gen2 and reseat it. maybe the hardware will reset. and the drivers might reset. I hope I can uninstall the 81.98. Maybe buy a 7800 gtx, but its so $$$. $600. so if anyone has any ideas or what drivers work best for a XPS Gen2 with 6800 ultra Go. cause with 82.10 i was getting lots of tears and red Lines everywhere. I thought the red lines might be AA or something messed up.
Bill
If your card is seated correctly, sounds like you have a bad card, really no reason to be getting those lines everywhere. Go buy a 7800 GTX go for that.
Guest Guest
Interesting, it seems that 81.98 were re-released, as it says now, that they are dated February 7, 2006: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.98.html
Guest Guest
Seems that the only changes in this new release are in these files: modes.txt nv4_disp.cat nv4_disp.inf
mobilenvidia
nVidia added support for the 7800GS and then got them re-certified. That is all that is different.

SLoweCSL
Turn off nVidia display services like this:'Start', 'Run' services.msc and go down to nVidia display services . Stop this service and all your errors will be gone :) Thanks, I'll give it a go. :) By the way, what does this service do? By permanently disabling it, what will it effect? Thanks

Guest themonk
I have a Evesham Voyager c720 with the GeForce 7800 GTX Go. I have noticed I have certain powermizer settings missing from the nvidia options. Is there a driver out there that can fix this problem. ATM I am using 81.94 from the Nvidia website. TNGOG
Is it possible someone can mod these drivers to work with Vista 32bit and my 8400gs? or is that impossible
TNGOG
Anyone?
Bill
Its probably not possible and why would you want to do that anyway? You should be using much newer drivers with a geforce 8 series card, and you should use XP or windows 7 instead of Vista.
TNGOG
Its probably not possible Well is there a chance is it possible for someone to mod it so i can use the 90 series with Vista or XP on the 8 series card( 8400gs ) ? but also the 80 series too if possible. And why would you want to do that anyway? For testing. Seriously testing. You should be using much newer drivers with a geforce 8 series card 8400GS + Vista = New Drivers the 190 series = Terrible 8400GS + XP = New Drivers = The only working 190 driver is the 190.38, the rest are horrible 8400GS + Windows 7 = any win 7 driver is bad, so i just use the vista drivers and you should use XP or windows 7 instead of Vista. I have XP, i have Vista and i already tried Win 7. Vista is the best OS, windows 7 is not, maybe the final version will improve, but i already tried and tested for weeks with Win 7 and its more buggy then Vista. Vista is the best OS, next comes XP. Right now i am using Vista and everything is working great, i just wanted to test out those drivers, older ones on my 8400gs if possible. Maybe you guys can mod them for me, if you don't mind, if not, dorry worry about it, i was just asking.
