Here is a snippet from nVidia on what an instrumental driver does.

NVPerfKit 1.1

NVPerfKit gives you access to low-level performance counters inside the driver, and hardware counters inside the GPU itself. The performance counters are available via the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Performance Data Helper (PDH) interface to tools such as Intel VTune™, gDEBugger, and directly in your OpenGL and DirectX applications. A plug-in supporting Microsoft PIX for Windows is also provided, giving you low-latency access to NVPerfKit performance counters directly from the driver.

So this is a specially modded INF by nVidia and then me to allow all GPU support.

Looks like there is two missing files :

nvprfctr.reg

and

nvprfctr.ini

:)

Let e check with original file, our auto-compressing app may have removed those 2 files as they arn't default driver files.

You use 7-Zip 4.32, so you shouldn't be having that problem. It works fine for me without excluding those two files.

Our auto driver 7-zipper goes through all the files and deletes out any rubbish that shouldn't be in there. (text and HTML files etc)

This driver has some non standard files, ini and reg that our 7-zipper app didn't recognise and therefore didn't include them.

I have updated this and from now in it will recognise Instrumental drivers and allow for their extensions.

So uploaded now is a version with the correct files, with our strict uploading policy we can't sort this out till after the changes are found.

All in the name of the best driver Downloads out there.

Enjoy

New "version" uploaded , new problems .... 7-zip tells me that files in the package are broken now :) ( Oh and i downloaded it 4 times ... just in case it was a problem on my side )

Note : I got the last version of 7-Zip

Crikey, this is one stuborn driver.

I'm also using 7-zip 4.32.

This version is somewhat faster than 4.29, I'll keep a closer eye on what it outputs.

I use the command line version in our app.

Uploading again as we speak.

When running the installer I get the error:

NVPMAPI builds are not supported on windows 2000

So is this version XP only?

I would assune so then, not had much to do with this driver.

I bet if I used these while running FEAR I would see my GPU cussing at me, that is what nvidia doesn't want me to see. :)

3Dmark05 and 06 wont run on mine, so I dont get any comments from my card on those. :)
