Any modern Dell laptop should work just fine with I82K fan gui.

So if you buy that 9400, not only should the fans not act up, but if they do you can easily set up a custom control setup for the fans.

I got the 9400 aswell reciently. Iv got the exact same specifications as you Seppi2k. Except iv got the 2.16GHz Core Duo processor.

I didnt bother running any benchmarks straight away when I got it. Theres way too much Dell bloatware on it and the installed driver was out of date. I just did a complete format and reinstallation of XP. Im using the latest Extreme-G Mobile Force drivers and here is my compare link for my score.

I got 3160 points

Why use a copy, when the original is available here. Benchmarks run in the past certified the superior performance of our standard mobile INF :)

I've just installed Windows Vista Build 5342 with the 87.43 drivers.

Here's the result of 3DMark2006:

2077 3DMarks.

Cool, this is ofcourse without overclock right? BTW I was wondering your Performance Rating of Vista with your laptop. With mine I got 1 :) Can you please tell what rating Vista gives to your 9400 configuration?

That's without overclocking. The Perfomence Rating was something about 5.3

nice results Seppi

I just got delivery of my Inspiron 9400, an upgrade to my old Inspiron 8100 which was getting a tad long in the tooth

Spec I got

Intel Centrino Duo T2400 @ 1,83 GhZ

Nvidia Geforce 7800 GO

1024 MB 667 Mhz DDR2-RAM

100 GB S-ATA Hard Drive with 5.400rpm

fairly simliar to yours, slower CPU and half the memory, but I still managed, out of the box

to get a 3dmark06 score of ......

2127

!!!!

thats with the default dell bloated build and the dell vid drivers. Going to try OC'ing tonight and see what I can push it up too.

MAn the machine is a monster in size!! but still seems to weigh about the same as my old 8100 !! and the screen is way way brighter on this new one. I do miss having the nipple control though, espiecally as even with touchpad on fastest, you can't get from one side of screen to other without lifting yer finger !!

Btw, I got my machine from the dell outlet store, saved me over 50% of buying it spanky new !! :)
