Hi All,

Tried numerous drivers for my Dell Inspiron 8200 running a GoGl 700 nVidia graphics card and just get a line going across the screen on reboot ;(

Also only have a resolution of up to 1200! wehn should have 1600......

Anyone got past this? Tried a few inf files.

Thanks in advance (I hope!).

This is probably the best choice for you.

I am using the 82.10 driver with his INF and it works really nicely.

But before you go try that, please run NERD here on whatever old driver works so I can get your computer info. (screen info is what we need)

If you have a problamatic ultrasharp screen we probably have a fix for you.

Did it do that before the card upgrade? (your I8200 used to have a GF2 or GF4 unless Dell really did screw up and give you a quadro instead, now that would be a good deal :) )

Hi,

Ran program and results attached.

Prior to changing graphics card had the ATI 9??? something which I believe is the 2nd best I8200 card.

Got the inf file so will look for driver, replace inf file and install.

Cheers,

While it is nice to see the program now spits out a decent registration info file, I need the full logfile, the newer NERD version should still have that.

It is the looooong one.

Also you will find the 82.10 driver with the other 8x here.

or look in the release 80s section

Looks like you have the Samsung LCD-there's a modded inf file here for fixing that:

Getting closer....

Screen resolution now will go up 1366 by 768, BUT at all resolutions screen is not right.

4/5 of screen is useable, but screen is repeating at bottom of screen and 1/8th of screen to the right is showing a lot of coloured vertical lines.

Made changes to the inf by unremming out the line:

;Dell I8200's with a SXGA+ screen might need this EDID fix to enable proper screen sizing, just remove the ';' and reinstall driver

HKR,, OverrideEdidFlags0, %REG_BINARY%, 3A,C4,00,00,00,00,FF,FF,04,00,00,00,36,12,30,2A,78,20,51,1A,10,40,30,70,13,00,31

E4,10,00,00,18

The line appears to match line mention in other post mentioned above in this post.

Would it be useful to log on to my PC via VNC, Netmeeting, Remote Assistance/Desktop?

If so send email to muscleguy45@squatmail.com

Guys, how often do I have to repeat this:

If you have the Samsung UXGA-screen with EDID SEC3255, it WON'T WORK with the Quado4 700 GoGL with any driver newer than 65.90.

Your best bet is to install 65.90 if you want a newer driver, or one of the 45.xx series if you want a fast driver for older games.

Any driver above 65.90 will not work, no matter what you do with the inf files. Believe me, I tried. There's several other reports on the forum who confirm that.
