Guest Arnold Magbanua
I have a Dell XPS M170 with 7800gtx. Recently installed the 84.43 drivers and now I'm having problems with Powermizer. I can adjust the AC settings, but the battery settins is fixed at maximum power savings and the slider's even disappeared. Anyone else have this problem? LSudlow
Yes, lots of us are having the same problem, though usually with FX series cards, not 7800s. As far as I know, the only solution is to disable PowerMizer and set the card permanently to Max Performance. This kind of defeats the purpose of a mobile card, but until someone figures out how to get PowerMizer to work properly, it's all we've got. The four lines to add or modify in your inf are: HKR,, PowerMizerDefault, %REG_DWORD%, 1 HKR,, PowerMizerEnable, %REG_DWORD%, 0 HKR,, PowerMizerLevel, %REG_BINARY%, 01,00,00,00 HKR,, PowerMizerLevelAC, %REG_BINARY%, 01,00,00,00 Reinstall and you should be all set. sn0wl
Is there a way to change PowerMizer settings on the fly without reinstalling? A command or something like that?
Guest Guest
It was the 84.43 drivers. I installed them to play oblivion, but I downgraded back to 84.21 and my powermizer control for battery came back! I did drivercleaner and re-installed 84.43 to give it one more chance but still no joy. I dunno if Nvidia changed their drivers or may be something wrong with the 84.43 inf?
