Ed Hubbard
Guys, Just discovered this site (excellent) as I try and figure out a problem with my M200. I have the latest Nvidia drivers (thanks to you!) and have tweaked the registry and everything works great *except* hooking up this new wide-screen LCD panel that I just got. I can get any other resolution to work / show up above and below 1440 x 900 but I can't get 1440 x 900 to shop up - it is driving me nuts! I have edited all the lines in the registery to ensure 1440 x 900 shows up with all the other resolutions but no matter how many different ways I try to get this thing to accept 1440 x 900 it just won't do it. I'm thinking it has got to be a bug with the Go5200. I did try loading Powerstrip but that didn't work either. I've tried going into the custom timing settings, but that's the limit of my tweaking abilities with video cards. I mean, 'Front Porch'? I thought that was something in front of your house! :) Any help would be much appreciated. Thx. -Ed
MartinR
Hi Ed, I do have the exact same problem with my M200. I was able to install the 8425 driver without a problem and the inf file contains the 1440x900 resolution: HKR,, NV_Modes,[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] %REG_MULTI_SZ%, "{*}S 320x200 320x240 400x300 480x360 512x384 640x350 640x400=1FFF;SHV 640x480 720x400 720x480 768x576 800x600 852x480 853x480 854x480 864x480 1024x640 1024x768 1152x864 1280x720 1280x768 1280x800 1280x854 1280x960 1280x1024 1360x768 1365x768 1366x768 1400x1050 1440x900 1600x900 1600x1000 1600x1024 1600x1200 1680x1050 1800x1440 1920x1080 1920x1200 1920x1440 2048x1280 2048x1536 2560x1600 3840x2400x8,16,32=1FFF;" But it seems that the 1440x900 resoultion is not the only one that isn't available in the display settings, so I was wondering if the code line quoted above really lists all possible resolutions. Btw, what changes did you do in the registry? Or can you point me to documentation describing these changes? I would really appreciate any idea on how to get this to work. Cheers, Martin

Ed Hubbard
Fabrice, Thanks for pointing out that doc, but even after going through the registry again and inserting H (and V as well) in various combinations, I still can't get the driver to enable 1440x900. I'll keep trying, but I wish there was a definitive set of definitions for the Nvidia registry entries. For instance, there's a key called 'WidePanelBehavior' that looks like it might do something, but there's no documentation that I can find on the key. If anyone can point me to a source for Nvidia registry keys it would be much appreciated. BTW, great pictures! Have spent a bunch of time in Paris and visited Nice last year with my wife & kids, we love France. Martin, I have the same lines in the registry, I've just been tweaking them here and there to try and get the 1440x900 to show up - very frustrating! I'll keep working on it in my spare time and will report here if I find a fix. Please do the same. Thx. -Ed Edited April 29, 2006 by Ed Hubbard
Guest Howard
I got 1440X900 to work on my Tecra that also has the 5200. Trick was I made the setting 1440X900 when the external monitor was not connected. Good luck.
