Guest Guest
OK I get the idea now, So it says the 80 series are good for the 7800gtx on the site, so i tried the newest one out, when I go through to update driver manually as stated in the instructions it shows i have the 7800 but then when I choose the newest driver 84.26 my computer is calling it MSI Geforce 6200? Is that what the driver I am installing called?
Guest mrserv0n
Ok I get how the whole thing works got my 84.26 drivers installed and recognized properly with the modded .nfo. So everything looked fine, I loaded up Condemned and within 30 sec got the blue screen of death. So obviously this driver set was no good for me, What are u guys with 7800GTX using out there? Its a del btw
Bill
You should have gone with 84.25 or maybe the 84.30 Dell driver. What other games do you play on that?
Guest Guest
You should have gone with 84.25 or maybe the 84.30 Dell driver. What other games do you play on that? I play BF2, all the valve games and WoW, I just tried this condemned game cause I just got it and its capable of very high graphics so i wanted to see what this card can do. I am currently running and returned to Dells drivr on there web site 7.8.3.0 dated 7/14/05 :) I will be happy to try this process again if u think one would be a better working choice

jonno
but you only posted that 4 mins ago :S do the 84.25 drivers really have this problem of blue screening and are there any other problems?
Bill
The 84.26 drivers are some ones from MSI that are very buggy, we had some word from nvidia employees about how they really shouldn't have been released. (they never even finished testing them :) ) 84.25 on the other hand should work quite nicely. http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showtopic=9485 http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showtopic=9425 Those are the 84.29 and 84.30 Dell Drivers, respectively. You can try those both with the INF that comes with them, if it supports your GPU (and you have a dell), and with Pieter's mod INF.

Shoot, I use the drivers for the 7900 GTX off of Dells site for the M1710 on my M170 and it works and installs fine.
