edyang
I recently downloaded and installed forceware 77.77 based on recommendations for my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4100 with nVidia GeForce4 420 32MB to play World of Warcraft. After a patch 1.09 or 1.08, WoW video was flickering with fragmentation and lightning. After 77.77, I can once again play WoW. However, I discovered today that I cannot play back DVDs on my laptop now. I have tried WinDVD, WMP and RealPlayer. On WinDVD i get an error message "Create overlay failed. Please lower your screen resolution or color depth and try again." I get more or less the same message on RealPlayer. I have tried every single screen resolution and color scheme to no avail. Still get the same error. Oddly enough, I can view video files that are on my hard drive, just not on DVD playback... Someone please help me!!! :)
LSudlow
On the Overlay Settings page, uncheck the box that says "Enable VMR." That should restore your overlay ability.
