emonster
http://cgi.ebay.com/Gateway-256Mb-NVIDIA-G...7QQcmdZViewItem Thinking about getting one because the 7900 are no where to be found.
mobilenvidia
Does Gateway use proper MxM modules ? What version MB do you have, Sager (Clevo based as AW) needed to have a newer MB revision to take the go6800 Ultra + GPU's and higher output AC adaptor (210w I think) You have some homework to do, to see if your current MxM board is the same shape/size Not a bad upgrade if it fits and you have a go6600 or less so a go6800, probably not worth it if you have a go6800 Ultra. Tell us on how you got on with it
Ice-Tea
Great find. AFAIK, Gateway does indeed use standard MXM. Great price, too! :) EDIT: Really great price, just bought a few. I left one 7800 for you. If you don't want it, please tell me so I can buy that one, too. Should you find the last one gone, I'm willing to sell you one of mine, free off charge except for the shipping costs. I hope you don't mind, I didn't buy the last one because I didn't want to deprive you of your card :) Edited May 22, 2006 by Ice-Tea

Mike_Check
I actually meant the 7600 one. No way would a 7800 fit in mine :) sad but true. So do you want the 7600 one? Mike Check
Ice-Tea
AFAIK, that's a Type III as well. Gateway tends to put 'm all on the same FF. Cool for Gateway owners that want to upgrade. No so cool for people like you that don't have the room for a Type III.

Ice-Tea
Do you think i will not have any problem??undervolt... the AC adapter? What about the termal problem that i sholud have? ooooooo if it's' work i'll be very very happy owner of the amilo..... I will report to you!! The voltage wouldn't be a problem as the main power is drawn directly from the battery and localy converted. The 6800 and 7800 are just about the same as far as power consumption goes, afaik, so there shouldn't be a difference thermally or AC adapter wise. AFAIK, both gateway and FSC use modules with 46mm mounting holes. The only possible problem I see would be with with the insertts in the thermal mounting holes. You may have to remove/adapt one or more. If you want to help out me and the others: take pictures of every step of the way so I can make a 'how to' guide. And benchmark your system before and after :) If I can help, let me know.
