Video cards usually get much hotter than the CPU does. My GeForce 6600GT is set to shut down at 125 deg C (cant change it), whereas the CPU usually shuts down around 80 deg C. Now I'm not totally sure if laptop video cards are supposed to get that hot, as my GeForce FX Go5200 doesn't have a temp sensor on it, but I'd say that is normal.

My 6800 runs 80+ and that's quite normal, the slowdown setting in the driver is 105. But that CPU must be cooking - mine stays in the 70's. Perhaps you have defective thermal paste under the heat sink.
