alexandertyler
Don't know how many of you still play the original Aliens Versus Predator: Gold Edition game but it doesn't like to run on my rig (see sidebar). I am running with the 84.56 drivers. I have looked all over the net and found nothing to fix the situation although there are many people complaining. Any useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I already tried messing with the driver settings through the control panel and in game settings with no luck -- tried it with all bells and whistels and also without and there is no difference, either from in or out of game. Thanks in advance, Alex
alexandertyler
I just upgraded tp the 91.31 drivers and now AVP says that I do not have enough memory to run the game. That is absolutely hilarious. Anyways, anybody have any good ideas? Later, Alex P.S. I roled back to 66.35 and the game ran flawlessly. Fabrice Roux
I just upgraded tp the 91.31 drivers and now AVP says that I do not have enough memory to run the game. That is absolutely hilarious. Anyways, anybody have any good ideas? If the computer says that 2Gb is not enough shove 2 extra Gb. :) Report the issue to nVidia... if it's solved in a future release you'll be able to brag BIG TIME. alexandertyler
I sent a complaint to nvidia yesterday so here's hoping they actually give me a solution rather than the usual "sorry we can't make compatability for every game" nonsense. alexandertyler
Just to let you know nvidia's response! I hate them, maybe time to move over to ATI. Later, Alex Subject I have been playing Aliens Versus Predator 1: Gold Edition on 66.93 drivers o... Discussion Thread Response (MP) 06/09/2006 10:38 AM Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care. Display drivers for notebook GPU's are custom made for the notebook make and model they are used in to support some of the hot plug n play features your notebook supports. For this reason, the desktop Forceware display drivers which are available on our website will not work on your notebook. We are sorry however you will need to visit the website of your laptop manufacturer for customer display drivers for your notebook. If your notebook manufacturer's display drivers are outdated and you require a newer display driver, you may try www.laptopvideo2go.com. This website hosts desktop display drivers which have been modified to install on a notebook. Please keep in mind that since these drivers do not contain any customizations for your notebook, they may not work as well as those provided by your laptop manufacturer nor are they supported by the maker of your laptop or NVIDIA. I upgraded to drivers in the 7x.xx series and the game comes up as a black screen with only the lensflare present and it smudges when you move the in-game camera. I tried drivers all through the 7x.xx to 8x.xx series but there is no joy in playing the game. The 66.93 drivers work perfectly. Can you please fix this issue. There are many people who enjoy playing this title and are having the exact same problem. Please please PLSEASE fix this. alexandertyler
join the club i just got myself a brand spanking new desktop and this s*** still aint working same lens flare brightening effect. up until now i thought nvidia was a respectable graphics solution BAH!!!! If you want to play the game you will have to roll back drivers in the 6x.xx series, that is how I play it. Once I want to play other games I change back to the 91.xx series drivers. Pain in the arse but at least it works. Later, Alex
Guest Guest
well not sure if you have fixed the problem yet, however I do recommend a driver from this site, or you could try alienware drivers, they run the same rig, if you want a driver from them let me know I can get ya hooked up. :) I have the 51m 7700 running the latest version of your video card. hope you can talk to me on xfire delaguna or just reply to this.
