Assuming that:

- you use a driver with modded INF.

- Windows 98 SE support widescreen modes.

- you have a 1280x720 widescreen on your laptop.

You might want to try an older driver in the 50 to 70 range. I can't tell which one since I never used a laptop with Windows 98... :)

Since your screen is 4/3 1600x1200... your hardware should work flawlessly with w98. Your graphic card is based on a desktop Geforce 2. So all drivers past 30.xx will probably bring more arm than good.

Not the oldest... but unless you have issues you'd rather keep what's work.

I have an old computer that has a Geforce 4 4200 which I used with 56.56 or something because newer drivers would cause issues with games or TV output.

Newest drivers mainly bring compatiblity with new cards or new games. So during the life time of your card the new drivers fix issues. But after a while when no major issue are left your graphic card can't expect anything new.

So if you have a Dell driver that works for your graphic card it will probably your best option.
