andygb40
Seriously drop my FPS with a whole load of stuttering. I'm going to stick with 174.16 for the time being.

Guest zaidoT
Well I keep track on the drivers (the ones I used) for a while on an other forum (in Dutch) but I will post my findings so far. I don't know how to create a table on this forum so I did it this way. Hope you find it interesting. version[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3dmark06[1] crysis CPU[2] crysis GPU[3] 169.04[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] Â 3309 169.09[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] Â 3411[tab][/tab] Â 14.90[4][tab][/tab] Â 16.73[4] 169.12[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] Â 3407[tab][/tab] Â 14.92[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 14.39 169.13[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] Â 3407[tab][/tab] Â 14.79[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 15.05 169.17[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] Â 3409[tab][/tab] Â 14.85[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 15.04 169.17 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3411[tab][/tab] Â 14.90[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 15.07 169.21 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3403[tab][/tab] Â 14.91[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 15.09 169.25 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3409[tab][/tab] Â 14.89[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 15.00 171.16 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3412[tab][/tab] Â 14.88[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 15.20 from here Crysis 1.1[tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab][tab][/tab] Â 15.10[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 16.00 173.65 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3424[tab][/tab] Â 14.30[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 16.11 173.80 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3444[tab][/tab] Â 15.16[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 16.50 173.90 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3442[tab][/tab] Â Many render faults 174.12 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3418[tab][/tab] Â 15.60[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 17.09 174.13 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3425[tab][/tab] Â 15.60[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 17.12 174.16 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3409[tab][/tab] Â 15.58[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 17.17 174.20 + Vista SP1 beta[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 3420[tab][/tab] Â 15.60[tab][/tab][tab][/tab] 17.17 [1]: 3dmark06 score on 1280*854 (external monitor doesn't like 1280*800) [2]: fps benchmark on 1280*800 medium (physics and sound high) dx10 [3]: fps benchmark on 1280*800 medium (physics and sound high) dx10 [4]: different of above: 1280*800 medium (physics and sound medium) dx10 Zepto znote 6625WD 8600M GT 512MB Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2 x 2GB 32-bit Vista HP05E5DB
Guest Guest - Blackened
For anyone who can't install these drivers even though the list says they are supported - there is a .zip file in the extracted driver folder called original infs. Extract nvdm.inf. And if you're experiencing stuttering issues, it's possible that it's because the nvct inf installs even though it doesn't list your graphics card. I originally installed this with the have disk method with the nvct.inf, and it called it an nvidia dualview or something depite the fact it is a 7900GTX. So basically, extract the driver, delete nvct.inf, and extract nvdm.inf from the original infs folder. Hope that helps.
whitetigerx7
Nvidia must be doign nightly-build BETAs for some reason. Whatever it is... it has to be important.
Guest Guest
What does "nightly-build" mean? They make them overnight? Do they have a gang of vampires that can't program during the day or something? :)
mobilenvidia
Sorry dudes, modded INF up My issues never seem to cease, now my external HD that has all drivers, website, INF data is on the blink.
whitetigerx7
Actually this isn't a x64 driver. It's a 32bit driver. The 64bit INF they had with it was possibly a mistake.

muddymind
If I was you I would blame compal and not nvidia... I have an asus G1s with the same graphic card and it works fine with every driver I tested :)
larsan
This driver gives amazing Aero performance on my Mac. The 174.16 gave me BAD stuttering, and some very erratic behavior.
whitetigerx7
I've been throwing everything I have at these and so far these drivers are stable and very reliable for everything.

Aoshi_88
Going to try these on my S41. Will report back if there are any errors. Frankly, the new driver series' is confusing me.
WetSawdustDemon
I know what you mean aoshi, it seems the 174 series is for notebook and/or desktop graphic cards, so while this one is good for a lot of laptops, 174.16 was just for desktop GPUs (and only the 9600 at that). Anyways these look pretty good, has anyone tried them on a 7950GTX or similar yet?
Acubens
Well I keep track on the drivers (the ones I used) for a while on an other forum (in Dutch) but I will post my findings so far. To test this one I used the modded inf of 174.13 and renamed it. I don't know how to create a table on this forum so I did it this way. Welk nederlands forum is dat? WetSawdustDemon
3Dmark06 - Driver number - Idle running temperature 5247 167.45 51C 5261 173.80 58C 5244 173.65 59C 5243 174.20 60C I'm very worried about why the newer drivers seem to make my laptop run 10C hotter than the Dell performance drivers when not playing games, I like the new ones but I'm going to have to go back to the performance drivers unless I can find a way to make the new drivers run as cool as 167.45. It seems the cause is that now the GPU Core and memory speeds never drop below 200/300, I am sure they used to drop down lower than this when idle. Does anyone know how I can sort this out? Guest Guest
I just upgraded from the 169.28 and my 3dMark06 score was 6774 and with these drivers is jumped to 6818. I have a toshiba x205-SLi3
GaryHook
i have same issue with the temp on my m1710
WetSawdustDemon
Gary, thanks for replying. I think the temp increase looks to be due to the driver then. I am sure that the clock speeds used to drop down to 100/130 when I was running 167.45. Can anyone else confirm using NVMonitor if these drivers let your machine drop their core and memory speeds down further when idle? Mine are either stuck at 200/300 (idle) or 575/600 (gaming), which results in a higher idle temperature I think. I like these drivers but I they seem to run much hotter (I spotted them reach 90C when playing Bioshock as well). I might have to switch back to 167.45 just to be on the safe side. nightwolf314
Same fps as 174.12 with a higher temperature. this is a lil off topic. but cud any suggest a better overclock for my rig? im currently at 600/525 using ntune with 174.12. temp at 60 during gaming. i use a laptop cooler to keep the temp down. I need a better frequency for more fps in assassin's creed.
macpete
Apple MBP 15" Santa Rosa with 8600M GT here (Vista 32 X86 Enterprise) ... lots of overheating issues :) I've tried this version with Guild Wars and Unity but the drivers lock the GPU after half an hour. It did not happen with the 169 series ... but 174 is slightly faster. Anyone with this GPU can give me some advice? Wich versione of ForceWare should I pick (I mean, what is the latest, safe version of the suite for me?). PS Thanks a lot to the authors of this website ... very useful. Keep up the good work!
