Crap performance from this driver and all of the 280 series drivers on my setup. 275.36 has been the best for performance, as I have not found a set of drivers that trump these.

whats your setup? what are you running? games?

hello,

i am not able to install the OPTIMUS driver after deinstalling my dell driver. the install fails. the driver itself installs correctly. i am using a dell xps 15 with gt540m win7 64bit. does anyone has a similar problem and knows how to solve it?

thx in advance :)

must copy .inf from the head of topic or just attached modded INF (32/ 64-bit) for Vaio models file or both ?

Download just the driver, copy and replace the INF from the attached zip file.

Guest Happy VAIO CW guest

Use the attached modded INF (32/ 64-bit) for Vaio models FZ, AR, AW and CW.

Thank you SO much! :-D I've been trying different drivers for my CW with GT 230M for ages and they've always crashed through a BSOD. This one ACTUALLY works with your modified INF! <3

The difference between the old Vaio driver and this one is incredible, too. This one is much, much faster and it seems like I'm not getting any random "driver stopped responding" errors anymore!

Thank you!

Just download the driver > exact it > download your attached zip file > copy and replace the INF from your attached zip file to folder name "Driver".

Am i right ?

Hi guys,

last hope - laptopVideo2Go.

I am so sad, almost sick :((( why are notebook / laptop manifacturers so keen on letting us down? Why?

My notebook is not that old: MSI GT 640 with a decent Intel Quad-Core i7-720QM and a Nvidia Geforce GTS 250M - not the non-plus-ultra newest high-end tool, but with MSI Afterburner i am getting the Geforce GTS 250M to 510 MHz Core, Memory 880 MHz. All the games i'm playing running nice, not all the glamour graphics'n particle effects, but it is a notebook and i am fine :).

Things got worse with Battlefield 3. Starting with the BF3 Beta, i should use a Nvidia driver > 285.xx - but i can't get any driver newer than 267.76 working

http://forum.noteboo...f3-running.html

The crux is, that the drivers "seem" to install fine, after reboot the notebook display hangs after the windows starting logo. HDD seems to work a few seconds more, then just sporadically blinking HDD-LED. Then i have to step back to 267.67. After installing this v285.62 Windows 7/Vista 64bit | NVIDIA OEM Mobile here, i can watch the notebook is booting normally (via Keyboard Logi G15), but after starting (windows logo) the Display - internal laptop panel and external 24" - remains "black", though notebooks seems to load till windows desktop.

Guys, is there any help around, any tips what might help? I am going to test the "have disc method" with the INF Modified - but i am not confident.

MSI delivers as "latest" driver - lol - Win7Vistax64_HDA(188.33) - with this inf.-file http://min.us/mlnL7wjBu

The Driver 267.76 is the latest working driver for my MSI GT 640 and the Nvidia Geforce GTS 250M. I don't know what changed AFTER that :(( o_O - if one might want to check it out, here are the .inf-files from that package, which works http://min.us/me4bpcaWR

So here's my problem. I extracted the drivers, and placed the modified inf file. Every time I try to install the new drivers, they fail when installing the Nvidia control panel. It gets through installing the drivers fine, but crashes out and fails on the control panel.

I'm running SLI 260m's on an Alienware M17x R-1.

This problem has been vexing me and a bunch of people trying to help me on the notebookreview forums, so if you guys have any ideas, I would really appreciate them.

Also, the last working drivers I had were the 257.38 drivers from Dell. I've also experienced the same problem listed above when trying out the 285.58 and 285.38.

whats your setup? what are you running? games?

I have a dell studio xps 1340. Its old, but it still gets the job done, somehow.

gfx: nVidia 9500MGS (hybrid SLI version and is really just a 9400M and 9200M combined)

chip: 2.67ghz intel core 2 duo

The driver 275.36 gives me the best windows experience index i've ever had of 5.4. Most of the time it's just 5.2 or 5.3. I know it's not a big difference. Card temps seem the be the same as they are with other drivers.

uninstall all your nvidia graphic drivers, 3d vision, phys x, etc..

Then run this http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

make sure to select which options you want it to search for and then remove those entries from registry.

reboot and install new drivers

http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

driver sweeper seems to fix most of the problems i have with drivers.

it removes old junk registry entries/files that seem to get leftover.

The Nvidia modded INF in the guide is only for some Vaio models. Doesn't the original Nvidia driver support your card?

Guest premiumpaper

Do you have one for the Sony Vaio CW16FG?

woops sorry guys wrong thread, I've already tried this driver. works well except if you're trying to run BF3 on it, the graphics card itself isn't powerful enough.. the sound lags with the video graphics.

either that or I dunno how to make BF3 run a little less laggy on my VPCCW16FG. Can anyone help? Or do I just have to buy a new graphics card/new laptop/new desktop?
