Atillamaximum
Recently the graphics card in my z81sp would not show up in the device list (stuck with vgasave) after troubleshooting and reformat without luck I believe the card itself may be bad. I asked years ago about upgrade options, anyone around that still knows what they were or where I might get them? Another 6800 would be fine, but if the 7600 fit (8600? *drool*) that would be great. checked out mxm-upgrade.com store but it seems they only have much newer expensive cards. At this point I just want it back to similiar functionality for a cheap as possible, have more concerns for running cooler rather than faster the 6800 ran the games I wanted it to perfectly. I have a budget of around $50-$70 to bring this thing back. If anyone has one for sale or might have thoughts about some I found I ebay that would help a lot. http://www.ebay.com/itm/nVIDIA-GateWay-Go7600-128M-MXM-III-VGA-Card-33PA6VB0045-/250687129278?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3a5e1e06be this card looks like its the same size and configuration as my 6800 http://www.ebay.com/itm/nVidia-GF-Go7800-A2-DDR3-512MB-MXM-III-Video-VGA-Card-/250656968257?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3a5c51ce41 though pricy this seems like it may fit too but no clue if it would actaully be compatible. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATI-M76M-HD-2600-256MB-MXM-II-video-card-for-HP-8510p-8510w-other-laptops-/280901357697?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4167069081 this type 2 has the right price and without the metal shield looks like it would fit but HP seems to usually have proprietary vbios http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-3470-256MB-MXM-II-DDR2-VG-82M06-001-64bit-VGA-Card-/271023754422?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3f1a464cb6 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-3470-256MB-MXM-II-DDR2-VG-82M06-001-64bit-VGA-Card-/271023754422?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3f1a464cb6 more type IIs fit wouldn't be issue but compatibility??? zipper
I remember Go7900 GS as an option to replace Go6800 in FS 3438/4438 / AW 5700. But it was a hotgoing bugger giving a lot of problems so f. ex . MXM-upgrade stopped to offer them. Can't say for the GTX but the price isn't high to try.
