All NVIDIA drivers hosted at LaptopVideo2Go.com come as a maximum compressed self-extracting 7-ZIP archive for your convenience.
Additionally, reduce the size of your installation by using NVLiTE to rip out unnecessary languages and miscellaneous files without losing any driver features.
Driver size and MD5 numbers may not be accurate due to the driver being repackaged and post not updated.

Mess with the infs - are there double set of them?

I must double check what I did here

Rewrote my driver squasher, may have done a booboo with the  code

All good, I see what I did now

    My app is fine

I just happened to run it twice, first time copies the INFs accross, so that the app that makes the post and does the info for database can process the INF(s) data

It won't affect any thing ie WHQL still intact

It just looked peculiar but I doubted it wouldn't work. Should launch my 680 to have a test - I hate that signature tinkering...

OK, tried. Shines on 3DMark, the fastest so far.

Your GPU is already in the modded INF and has been for years

You need to use Universal Extractor to extract your Sony driver or start the install and look in the 'temp' folder to get the files

You're GPU is probably no longer supported by Sony

    • 1 month later...

Please excuse my relative ignorance in this area, I am probably missing something very simple but cannot seem to get this driver to install on my Sony Vaio VGN-AR61ZU that I have upgraded to Win8.1 x64 & so am unable to download any OEM driver for.

The display adapter in question is an Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT (VEN_10DE&DEV_0407&SUBSYS_9016104D) which would appear to be included in the modified .inf file that I have copied into the install directory, but the install still fails with the same 'This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.' error.

I am just trying to find a more recent driver than current (9.18.13.3156 13/10/2013) as am experiencing a number of BSOD's & Mozilla Firefox crashes, both indicating the display driver as being the problem with their relevant crash reports.

    TIA

    To Display.Driver folder?

Thanks very much!! You the man!!

Said it would be something simple, although still can't see where it actually tells you this & in my defense, the root directory for the 340.82_win8x64 download also contained all the .inf files which was not the case with the 340.84_win8x64 one, so may well have worked it out with the latter one.

In any case, although both of them would now run, they failed on actual installation of the driver, even after running the Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode in an attempt to remove any leftover remnants & give a clean start to install on. I am now left with just the MS Basic Display Adapter until I have time to source another driver or if anyone can offer any further advice.

I had these working on my 8600GS.

Have you disabled 'driver signature enforcement' ?

A vital step with modded INFs, which aren't WHQL (yet)

Ah yes, yet another simple solution & so obvious when you hear it !! I did say that I was new to all this !!

I will give this a go as soon as I get another chance but am actually enjoying currently being able to surf the Internet without Firefox crashing every half hour, albeit rather sadly being with the MS Basic Display Adapter.

Thanks for the help & will report back with any news.
