OPaul
Is there a fix for the Toshiba Black Bar Issue for Linux? Besides running older drivers. Unfortunately I can't get the old ones to work with my kernel.
Teraphy
I don't know anything down the Linux line of modifying. I'd imagine it just involves converting the black bar line to valid display timings. I'll look around.
OPaul
Cool thanks. Right now I'm stuck using the OpenSource nv driver which doesn't support 3d acceleration or full screen movies.
Teraphy
Which display size do you have? My Notes: :) http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x...appendix-i.html SoftEDIDs # -- 1400x1050 -- # 1400x1050 @ 60Hz, 65.8 kHz hsync Modeline "1400x1050" 129 1400 1464 1656 1960 [tab][/tab] 1050 1051 1054 1100 +HSync +VSync http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x...appendix-d.html UseEdidFreqs - true IgnoreEDID - true Also, I saw this thread on the matter for Linux: NvNews Thread

Shouldn't UseEdidFreqs be false so as to NOT use the information provided by the BIOS?
OPaul
Problem Solved I added the IgnoreEDID option and then set the HorizSync value to "28.0 - 80.0". Now the display takes up the full screen. But I actually got these values from someone else, so are they correct for my screen? I don't want the values to be hurting the LCD or anything. Teraphy
Great Paul! As I said I'm not Linux savvy and I'd gather "HorizSync" is a freq of ~48kHz for 1024x768. So I'm not sure why the range of values 28-80 :)
