Thecla
I have an HP nw9440 notebook with a Quadro FX 1500M Video card, Windows XP Pro, and the most recent HP-supplied drivers (86.56). My problem is that when I go to the PowerMizer settings on the laptop display control panel the AC outlet slider has all three settings ("Maximum power savings", "Balanced", "Maximum Performance") but the Battery slider only has "Maximum power savings" and "Balanced". This means that I'm completely unable to run the video card at "max performance" when I'm on battery power, which seems really silly. Is this a limitation imposed by the driver installation? Is there some (hopefully easy) way to get back the "max performance" setting on battery power? Thanks!
Guest pkan
The reason is that the max setting may not work properly on your computer, like mine! I have the HP zd7010us, and if I use that setting I get the so-called "mosaic" effect (see http://tinyurl.com/yqlg5b).
