JadeRaven
My laptop has some serious performance issues when it is not plugged in. I can go from 60 fps in game to 12 just by unplugging it. I fixed the issue with the processor underclocking it's self when not plugged in, but by checking the clocks on my card i saw that they too were cut by almost 3/4 clock speed. How can i fix this. Step by step would be great. I am running the latest nvidia drivers. and my card is a nvidia 8400gs
RFrancis
You might want to try the Powermizer fix. LINK
wook
well... this is totally normal. You're laptop is designed to cut all 'unnecessary' power consumption features. 3D is off, CPU speed cut etc... The only way i know that can help this. (not sure if its a total fix) is to download and install RMcock This will stop the CPU throttling up and down. i.e. stay at 100% You can even overclock it by setting the voltage higher. (only by 0.2500) Settings: "Advanced CPU settings" / processor untick every box "Advanced CPU settings" / chipset enable pop up mode, enable C5 & C6, enable slow C4 exit "Advanced CPU settings" / throttling untick all "management" allow direct multi step transactions sum of CPU loads Set 'Maximal performance" profile Lastly..Very important!! Set the state to custom and the higest available.. Eg. if your max voltage is 1.2500v /12 X multiplyer, then set it for 13.0X and 1.3000v THen go to monitoring.. -CPU core clock and throttling should stay at 100% -CPU frequency ID and violtage ID should be @ 1.2500 and 1.3000 all good? EDIT: perhaps the most important, is to tick the box that says 'apply these settings at startup' : )
