aye29
Fast Writes are enabled by deafult in Pieter's infs. To enable/disable it, got to nVidia Digital Display and click AGP Settings. Check or uncheck Fast Writes to enable/disable it.
®®®
Normally it is enabled by default (unlike SBA). Is it disabled on your Gericom? Guest maciek
in the AGP settings tab the only option i can change is the AGP rate. when it comes to capabilities, FAST WRITES is set to 'yes' only in the CHIPSET. OS and GPU show 'no'. im not sure how to interpret these values. Guest maciek
hi, firstly big thanks for the alienware drivers, they are amazing. secondly, this FAST WRITES issue has been bothering me a lot so after long hours of research of the topic in the internet, running thousands of of diagnostic programs, i figured out that FAST WRITES on my 5600fx are disabled from GPU BIOS level. i tried to flash the ###### thing but whatever flash program i used, i always got 'unsupported EEPROM' message. did anyone else have similar problems or am i the sigled out individual? please help
®®®
maciek, it's fate. just live it with it. Don't bother anymore. It's not worth the time. The performance gain is MARGINAL. The laptop GPUs are somehow not supported by the standard NVFLASH app (any version). Dontknow why. :)
