Guest doubleblack
is overclocking possible with these drivers? You cannot overclock any 16*.** driver...
Guest sg17681
I had the same issue with my HP notebook nw9440 (Quadro FX 1500M) with all drivers above 98.something. After playing aroung with RivaTuner and its Hardware Monitoring I identified a general problem of the newer NVidia drivers with power management. The driver is supposed to downclock memory and GPU to 100 MHz in 2D mode (idle GPU?). If fact, looking at the graphs of RivaTuner, both are clocked to under 1 MHz! This seems to be the reason for screen corruption with vertical screen columns being interchanged in a weird pattern. By overclocking GPU and memory to 150 MHz in 2D mode and making RivaTuner apply these settings during boot all screen corruption is gone on my notebook. All this takes place under Windows Vista Business Edition 32 bit. Wheather its a graphics driver problem or an OS issue, it should be addressed to NVidia for clarification. Regards, Christian Hi,Installed the driver. yet get corrupted screen after some minutes. (Same as the 163.44) Back to 158.45 again...... Greetings Have a XPS 1710 with Nvidia GO 7900 GS. Guest Seven_PRX
You cannot overclock any 16*.** driver... If you use Rivatuner you can overlock with the 16x.xx drivers.
Guest Puzom
Guest_Guest_sg17681_* Hmm thanks for the tips, will try it too. Can you please tell me where in RivaTuner I can overclock just for the 2D mode? Greetings.
Guest sg17681
After starting RivaTuner: from the "Main" window goto "Driver settings" -> "Customize..." -> "System settings". Select "Enable driver-level hardware overclocking" and "standard 2D" on the right side drop down. Finally select the MHz you want and start testing. To make this change a permanent one select "Apply overclocking at Windows startup..." under "Startup settings". Regards, Christian
Guest Puzom
Guest_Guest_sg17681_* Thanks for the quick reply :) Will try it and let you know if it helped on the XPS m1710 as well. Greetings.

Guest Puzom
Guest_Guest_sg17681_* Set the 2D speed to 150 MHZ (max i could set). System is running with the driver for 60 min or so and still all OK. In your first reply you say "If fact, looking at the graphs of RivaTuner, both are clocked to under 1 MHz! This seems to be the reason for screen corruption with vertical screen columns being interchanged in a weird pattern." Where did you see this? My speed where set to 100 MHZ in the settings of the 2D dialog. The Hardware Monitoring feature of rivaTuner only show me the graphs of the memory and core speeds (3D values). Thanks! Guest ATI_NOT
*These drivers will give a Nvidia Control panel install error... Just restart after the driver is finished installing and the control panel will show up fine. Same 3dmarks as 163.44.

Guest joker
This graphic card has a bug that a keen frame occurs (run and stop, run and stop...) when I run RollerCoaster 3 Wild WITH WATER OBJECTS on my park. I do not know why, but I'm sure that it is a bug. Somebody know what engine has this bug?
Guest doug
I got a "IDirect3Device9::Present failed: Device lost (D3DERR_DEVICELOST)" error after running 3DMark06, re-ran 3DMark06 and it went away. Maybe not related, just thought i would mention it to see if this happened to anyone else. These drivers have the exact same performance as the bioshock ones.
