The fix for that was already published, and the staff here already know about it.

As for the patch being in this inf or not (or the need for it), I'm not sure.

by the way, thanks so much for all you guys do here. :) you guys really are the best driver site for nVidia on the web right now. period.

PowerMizer doesn't save the settings for me - but at least they default as should - max perf for AC, max savings for battery; not as the former 163.xx: balanced/AC and max perf/battery...

Woot woot!

I broke 4k in 3DMark (4085, at 500/500)! Yes, OC and PowerMizer work again. I'm using .inf .231

On a side note, when I installed these drivers I got a message of a missing nvwssr.dll.

GPU also running about 7 degrees cooler.

Does OC work in Vista as well??? I have a Quadro FX 570M Thinkpad T61P... With Vista...

I'm picking up a new 250GB HDD today for my notebook today, I should have enough room to dual boot again then. I'll let you know after I Ghost this partition over and install Vista again.

Hi, please i have a question, i have seen in the modded .inf file it contains a catalog file nv_disp.cat, but when i have downloaded the drivers posted above, i have not seen any catalog file, would you like please to add it in order to have a signed driver. Thanks for your work

That is there by default this is a beta driver, send to testing houses to benchmark the new 8800GT.

You'll find that all drivers will have that line in the INF even though it might not be signed.

Why have signed drivers, it doesn't mean anything other than the driver has been to MS for testing

It'll be a few days before I have a dual boot system up and running if I clone my current HDD using ghost11 since I need to compact the files more then the are now so there is a smaller foot print to create the desired size partition for Vista. Or I could simply do a clean install, but both would take a few days to do. Your best bet for fast answers would probably by just to ask in the Vista driver version section.

Don't get the 250GB get the 200GB 7200RPM drive, will be quite a bit faster

For mass storage go external, but not like me with a 100 and 30GB external 2.5" HD's hanging from lappy :)

Awesome driver, just installed on my lappy with a 7800GTX Go 256MB. Uninstalled, Swept with DriverSweeper, Installed, and now I have a laptop running with the latest drivers (I used the modded .inf).

In response to other problem posted here:

Control Panel Issue: I am having no problems with nVidia Control Panel or nTune, no crashing, nothing. But nTune is being a bit quirky on system info, it says my Bus is a PCI Express x0 LOL. No other problems besides.

Well, ill be giving a presentation tomorrow on this baby so I hope these drivers are as sturdy as they look now! :) (I always keep backup drivers though :) )

Keep the drivers coming!,

I tried installing this on an old machine I'm working on for someone, running Windows2000 SP4, and there was a file missing. I'll have to write down what's missing next time, but yeah. Didn't install properly on that desktop machine. The card is a GeForce 2 Ti, by the way. Setup appeared to work great for that card & OS, other than that missing file, and the device driver not initializing.

was the file nvwssr.dll?

I had a problem with that as well, I just told install to skip it and it works fine. I think nvwssr.dll is a file dealing with some help file, so its not really needed.

And as for the driver not initializing, did you use the modded .inf? because you need the modded one to get these drivers to run on older cards like the GeForce 2 Ti.

Yes I used the modified one. The driver won't even install at all unless you do that. :)

uncajesse here's a copy and paste from an answer i made to RangerXML in one of the News posts:

nvwssr.dll is basically a localization file (resource) for MultiLnaguage releases (even though it holds no langugaes). It exists in all drivers for XP (MultiLanguage and English only), and only in MultiLanguge releases for VISTA. Somebody correct me if my researches for NVLiTE are wrong .

Delete the reference to this file from the INF.

Hello,

Where can i report bugs etc. to the team? =)

So theres something strange on this new modded inf (100 KB). I installed this 167.26 with it and everything worked fine. I also got 200 more Points on 3dmark06. But after installing this driver I cant play any ProEvo 2008 because it has slowdowns and stutters (thried every option framskip, vsync etc). Then I installed to my old Driver back (v163.76 XP 32bit) using the new modded inf. But whats that? ProEvo stutters the same way... hmm. Luckily ive saved my old modded inf file (99,7 KB) and used it on this driver ... but with no effect... now ive installed my old driver using the old modded inf and ProEvo works absolutly fine!

so where the problem?
