grafistas
Dear sirs, i am an owner of the Acer Aspire 1522WLMi, which uses the FX Go5700 64mb. Somehow the video card went defective, in other words broken (does not even start the OS - winXPhome) i am just trying to figure out IF there s a part that can replace my video, like the FX Go5700 64mb or 128mb in some laptops. Is there any possibility that i can order a video card (Nvidia or ATI - i dont care much but ) that fits into my laptop? if yes inform me about shipping and pricing. this is athens - greece., acer services in greece are trying to sell me the low-end and worst FX Go5200 something that I DONT want. acer service is the worst after all. any ideas? :)

®®®
There's thread in german (pls. translate it on your own using worldlingo or google: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=10865 It seems that there is/was a heat design problem on that particular ACER model. I also remember even more threads about FX Go5700 problems in ACER 1522. Have a search in the forum, i'm sure you find more info.

The vga burned up (see reason in previous post) due to a bios problem. I opened the laptop and saw a miniAGP on the mainboard. I tried to find a replacement miniAGP card, but I could not find any store that sells miniAGP cards. So I sent the laptop to Acer for repair. They put a ?new? GeforceFX 5300 on the mainboard.. I don't think there is a online store that sells VGAs for laptops :) If you find some, I will apreciate further contact.
NeoMorph
I've got an Aspire 1524WMLi and it also burned up the video card. I've just bought a second had card off ebay (I'm out of warrenty :) ) and hope it fixes my problem. This bios problem... is there a fix anywhere as the burnup was due to the fan not speeding up when it was needed. I'm guessing that this problem must have caused a bunch of the 1520 series to die this way.
