sizmik
Dont know if these are any good to anyone, but I have ran 3dMark 2005 on my XPS laptop. I was expecting around the 9000 mark. Res - 1024x768 Score = 9301 Everything at stock, CPU not overclocked and GPU not overclocked (Dont think the 7950 GTX Can be clocked anyway at software level) Not overly happy about the scores but I'll keep tweaking. You may want to check out the post Can't O.C. my 7950 GTX. A member talks about DELL underclocking the memory timings on their 7950 GTX cards about 17% LOWER than what a 7950 GTX stock memory times should be. I think that is false advertising, if that is in fact true. 7950 GTX Killer Notebooks Executioner 3D'05 score
smax
I wouldn't call it false advertising. nVidia lays out some target clock speeds, and the design of the laptop didn't allow for them so Dell downclocked the memory. I really don't think that overclocking the memory alone would produce that much of an improvement over what Dell's stock clock speeds are. soulmist
If anyone was curious (looking to purchase a gaming laptop or something) I ran 3dMark06 on my Dell XPS M1710 running v84.69 drivers --------------------------- 2 gig ram, (DDR2) @ 667mhz GeForce Go 7950 GTX - default clock (575 / 600) Core 2 Duo T7600 (which was OC'd at 3.11ghz) ============== I got a score of: 5538 Which is much higher than on my desktop pc oddly enough. Ah I should also mention that the demo of 3dmark06 defaulted to 1200x1024 on my 17' widescreen (donno if that matters?)
metsjeesus
Read the info about 06...The biggest differences between 05 and 05 03 01 00 is that it's running at bigger resolution, which is, 1280x1024

But do you ever tried the driver 169.04?? I have the same laptop -- XPS M1710 geforce 7950 GTX with 2 GB in RAM and I'm using this driver with OC frequencies 575/700 and its run pretty nice. Much better than others 169, 156 and 163 drivers how many FPS do you have in yours games? cheers!
ankitm
I ran tests on 3d Mark 06 on my XPS M1710 laptop with 174.31 drivers and got 5103 3dMarks. I think it is not good as I have Nvidia 7950 GTX. Any suggestions to improve on the same??
Guest Fransois
Core 2 Duo T7600 (which was OC'd at 3.11ghz) Hi, How do you overclock your T7600 CPU?? I tried it but the bios did not let me change it. You have a smart idea to overrule my bios? Maybe you have a T7600G CPU? terror_adagio
I have my 7950GTX overclocked to 600/650. Stock was set at 575/600. My temps are 65C at idle and between 80-85C at load depending on the application. I could probably get the clocks up to 630/700 if I wanted. The 7950GTX is rated to be able to be at 700mhz for the memory. I think it depends on the cooling you have in your laptop. Maybe Dell is playing it safe or maybe their cooling isn't good enough to maintain 700? Don't know. My overclock is runnng without error. I use Riva tuner. I'm more curious about how to overclock my processor T7600 (2,33Ghz). Greets Fransois
