Video RAM for GeForce Go 6400 underreported in Vista

Hello,

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FS760/W with 2GB RAM and a Geforce Go 6400 card that's supposed to have 128MB dedicated VRAM. Ever since I've upgraded to Vista Ultimate, however, every driver I've tried installing -- be it the Sony driver provided through Microsoft Update or the 97.46 Sony driver here that looked the most promising -- has failed to correct a problem where Vista thinks I only have 32MB VRAM and compensates by sharing varying degrees of my system RAM (!!!). I've noticed slower performance on a number of graphics-intense applications since the upgrade, even with Aero off. I've also noticed that ported versions of the same applications in Ubuntu Linux, such as Second Life, run far far faster than their original Windows counterparts, and Ubuntu seems to recognize the full extent of my card's VRAM.

So has anyone else had this problem, and could anyone help me fix it? Thanks!
