Hey All, Teraphy dunno if you're still there, been a while!

I'm in great need of someone who really knows his stuff to "mod" the .inf from version 9.3.7.1 with the info that comes on the original drivers (that comes with my laptop), version 5.7.8.2.

When i use 9.3.7.1 with the modified INF from this site, I get BSOD most of the time or it's quite broken when it gets past BSOD.

I tried to do it myself, but i must be removing too much stuff from the 9.3.7.1 or not adding enough from 5.7.8.2 i think ^^;

The laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio, running on XP SP2 with GeforceFX 5200 GO.

I attached both INFs if anyone can take a look at them.

For my exact card windows reports :

%NVIDIA_NV34.DEV_0324.3% = nv4_NV34_M2a, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0324&SUBSYS_00401179

NVIDIA_NV34.DEV_0324.3 = "NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200"

Thanks in advance, i'm going crazy with this o_O

it's OK, i finally managed to do it on my own after spending countless time trying different variants of the .INF!

If anyone needs help with this, GeforceFX 5200 on Toshiba Qosmio, let me know :)

Attach your findings here for other with the curse of the BSOD

Hmm well you would have spent 6 minutes while i spent almost a whole night.

anyway, it's done now :)

I ended up modding the 72.14 drivers as they offer the best underscan setting for component (YUV) connection to HDTV.

Is it attached here.

With it, no more BSOD trying when installing the driver, at least on this Toshiba Qosmio E10.

Everything else seem to work OK.

Sleep is so over rated :)

Cheers for the INF.

The BSOD is so hard to diagnose with out the actual simptoms.

Cheers for the INF hopefully it will help other in the same boat.

mobilenvidia, btw, how can i set the boards to display all threads in "Standard" automatically, instead of Outline?

It's quite a pain to change the Display Mode all the time for each thread i visit!

Thanks for the info. (I found nothing in the user control panel)

Can you attach a piccy of your problem, not sure what is happenng.

Well it's simple. Each time I enter a thread I only see the first post and have to do Options > Display modes > Switch to Standard for the thread to display all posts.

Thanks.

See you,

OK, I don't even have that setting, I'll get the Forum mod(d)er to have a look at your issue.

I'm only an INF mod(d)er :)

Hello Alcahest,

The topic information is set in a cookie when you click it. Linear is the default if a cookie is not set , I'm guessing you are not allowing cookies and that is why it is always set to outline. Hope that helps :)

Well i don't know what you guys did, but it works fine now :)

(and i didn't alter ANYTHING on my end)

Oh Teraphy, nice to see you there, it's been a WHILE.

Since we have the same graphic card, can you tell me what version of the driver you are using?

See you,

Alcahest

I'm not sure if I did anything but glad to hear it's fixed :)

I need more of a stable laptop these days so I've stuck with 93.71. I've noticed a few minor quirks but they work fine.
