a quick question about video chipset's ID in driver inf

Hi I am new to forum but I have been using the drivers on this site for nearly 6 months. I examined my geforce go 7600's inf files( originally distributed with toshiba,both xp and vista versions) and the new 156.66 for xp's inf file from laptopvideo2go. On Toshiba's original inf files ,in localizable string part of inf file

the Identifier is like that:

NVIDIA_G73.DEV_0398.3 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600"

However on other drivers(including 156.66) that I downloaded from this site it is

NVIDIA_G73.DEV_0398.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600"

What exactly is the difference between those 0398.3 and 0398.1 lines? I also saw somewhere on net that geforce go 7600 was also identified as 0398.2(from asus or acer I think). So what does the ".number" part after 0398 do?

0398 are all the same GPUs, but as ODMs may differ the specs of the original GPU to meet their laptop specifictions, different settings in the INF may then needed (not always). So 0398.1 and 0398.2 can be used to call different INF settings.

Mostly this goes with different SUBSYS_IDs too.
