Hello. I recently downloaded this driver for my new laptop. I'm not a gamer, the main thin g for me was getting 'PURE HD'. I'm just wondering if this driver contains this??

The driver "contains" it (whatever that means). But does your card model support it ?

cheers

He has a Vostro which means he probably has a an 8400M or 8600M, so yeah they do support Purevideo HD. But you'll need Cyberlink PowerDVD or similar to actually make use of it, there is no standalone DirectShow codec like with the original Purevideo.

I have a 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT. Yes, the card supports 'Pure HD', but only for Vista. They have since released a driver that allows XP to use 'Pure HD'.

So I'm just hoping that '163.75 for Windows XP' includes this update.

thanks to both of you for your replies :)
