mobilenvidia Posted October 21, 2007 Author Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 tried the 163.76's with this new infSLI WORKS!!! /me faints installed as before, got the black screen after it installed the second card, so i thought i was out of luck. rebooted, when to control panel and SLI was there, enabled it and for the first time im actually using SLI on drivers other than the Alienware 94.23's!!!!!! dont know why im getting this black screen bug after it installs the second card tho??? 3D Mark 06 scores:163.76 drivers = 6117 AW 94.23 with 163.76 profiles = 8822 :/ never seen such a dramatic drop in performance :P Finally some good news, so there is hope :) Now performance is the next step. Have a look in the nV control panel and check the performance settings They may have dropped. Also check the 3D Clocks and what they are up to in 3D mode (even 3D spinning logo in CP is enough to check this) They should jump to the proper 3D performance setttings what ever they are. Also try removing these 2 lines from INF or playing with either one: HKR,, RMDisablePteCoalesce, %REG_DWORD%, 1 HKR,, DCPerfLimitSLI, %REG_DWORD%, 2 They are in the SLI enable section of INF. Blank screen on reboot give this ago: Look in the INF for these lines: ;if upon reboot after install you have a black screen remove the ';' from line below and reinstall driver. ;HKR,, ModesetBlankDelay, %REG_DWORD%, 1 Set this value to 0 (zero) and try again (install) remove the ';' first though Also if any changes occur document them so I can make future changes to the INF, as I cannot try this my self for obvious reasons Good way to start the day, with some good news for a change :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Prior to the new inf it would only switch between the low power and performance 3d modes in vista, but now drops to 2d clocks nicely. Keep up the great work! Da Ferret Posted October 25, 2007 Report Share Posted October 25, 2007 Ok more testing done with the INF. I was wrong about that one setting fixing the dual displays on DVI. It only fixes it for VGA. I ran a bunch of tests of INF and came up with the follow: Original inf from dell 101.19 DVI monitor out works fine Modded INF (new mod) 163.75 DVI does not work for second display VGA works for second display only Going to do testing with the new 156 mobile drivers and those INFs tomarrow.
