Guest ChrisK
Basically its as I said in the title and description I have the 8600m GT in my laptop, and would like to go higher. Any way of doing this, considering it is a dell laptop?

Guest Robert
You might be able to get the 8700m gt that is sold for the xps m1730 and put that in since all dells pretty much use the same proprietary slots. If you want the gddr3 8600m gt card you can put it in from the xps 1530. It will be faster since it has the gddr3 ram.
Guest ChrisK
hmmm may be an idea, will have to do some searching around. I may just try to sell my laptop in a few months or so. I have the 3 year extended warranty (Accidental Damage) on it. T7300 2.0Ghz / 800mhz FSB / 4mb L2 Cache 4GB of 800mhz Memory (runs at 667 with lower latency timings) Hitachi 7200 RPM drive 16mb Buffer SATA 17 Inch Screen 1440x900 Selling it a bit down the road to recup maybe $1,000 and then apply that towards a really good laptop, or wait for something better to come out.
