Birdie
Is there anyone who has successfully done this? I've heard the power adapter probably won't handle it and the modifications to the heat sink sound a bit dodgey. Has anyone done this in an easy way? I'm getting a bit annoyed with the gaming stutter in vista and hope that an ati card might be the answer.
Ice-Tea
I did it, but as my heatsink was already modified from a previous experiment I can not say whether a heatsink nod is required or not. Because the heatsink is a bit smaller than the m5750 the notebook runs hotter. But it runs http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/benchmarks.xls While stressing it completely (loop benchmarking) power consumption rose to about 4.25 amps (the supply is rated for 4.5). Theoretically it should hold, in practice it is bloody hot and in practice I have no idea whether this will impact lifetime heavily or not. clockedover
I'm also interested... What do you call 'bloody hot' ? Do you have a temperature ?
