oksehud
I read an article on mxm-upgrade, regarding the fact, that Dell uses mxm cards in the XPS ONE.... The question is: Can I take out the card from a used xps-one and use as a standard mxm-III upgrade ??? The reason for asking is, that I have the opportunity to aquire an x1800 card from a Dell XPS one, and want to use it to upgrade my laptop... Dox
i dont think its as simple as that, you'll have to check with dell or your laptop manufacturer. the problem is: you have to make sure your card doesnt "blow up" your laptop due to its heat and that its capable of being cool. since a laptop chasis is designed to be optimal with that one card, replacing it with a better one risks it from overheating. plus theres the issue of if it actuall fits in the new laptop maybe u need to upgrae your bios etc best to check first.
