hi,

i've hp pavilion dv2580et with 8400M GS(using on XP with ForceWare 174.93 driver) and i'm trying to connect to Sony KDL-32U3000 via HDMI interface. I couldn't get anything on tv. I've read about custom resolutions, tried to change values regarding to tv's manual, calculated modeline strings and reversed them for nvidia control panel values and much more... But still nothing. Can anybody tell me the right custom resolution values for KDL-32U3000 or anything that can help me to get display on tv?

Out of curiosity did you try holding down function and pressing f8 or maybe f7 what ever the button is that changes the external video output on your computer? That's probably why your getting nothing on the screen.

S#it, my 40w2000 doesn't even promise output via HDMI when connected to PC, just VGA, that's 1366x768 on 1920x1080 capable screen. Should read the specs before ordering...

Do a boot up with it pluged in. windows will detect it automatically. But if it states the external unit, then it must have been detected already.

-Have you set it for single display or 'clone' under display preferences/ nvdia control panel?

-Set the resolution to the minimum you have available.. thats all i can think of.

My 42" plasma wont display anything unless its 1280 * 800

hope this helps..
