download a driver wihtin this forum.

browse the the 175.xx section and download 175.16 xp.

download the modded inf within the same thread.

extract the drivers with winzip/winrar/7zip.

put the modded inf into the extracted folder and overwrite original.

run setup.exe to install.

if it says the driver is not compatible with your system install via have disk method.

all links and guides are found in my sig.

I had the same problem with my Dell Vostro 1700 with Windows 2000 and the GeForce 8400M GS.

I took Dox's advice and went to the Nvidia web site and downloaded 175.16_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql under archived and beta drivers.

I then downloaded the modded .INF from this thread:

http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=18547

I unzipped the Nvidia files and replaced the old nv4_disp.inf with the one I downloaded.

I then ran the driver setup and it installed beautifully on my notebook.

Many thanks to Dox and LaptopVideo2Go!

JD
