driver problem

i have a alienware m9700 laptop

with 7900gs dual 512mb

sli technology

windows xp

my problem : cannot install any nvidia display driver, i get "The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit" message and setup exits.

i need a nvidia forceware driver newer than 84.74 in order to play Age of Conan ... but i cant install the driver because "i dont have any compatible hardware"

i cant even install the drivers on alienware site :)

could any1 assist me ?

btw: i went lil fast on profile, some info i dont even know what it meant :)

to install the driver, download the modded inf from this site.

i reccomend anything that is 175.16 and up

must i change the inf code or something ?

no

the modded inf allows mobile cards such as yours to use/install desktop drivers.

you just choose a driver to install such as 175.16, download the modded inf in the same thread.

extract the driver from the 7zip archive and put the modded inf into there overwriting the original.

and run setup.exe to install
