Terminator
Hello Guys. As you can see I am new here but I often download new drivers for my laptop from this site. I will talk about my pc specs before I discuss my questions and problems. PC SPECS:- NAME AND BRAND: Compaq Presario F756CA Notebook PC PROCESSOR: AMD Turion X2 Mobile Technology (Dual-Core processor) PROCESSOR SPEED: 1.9 GHZ VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA 7000M / nForce 610M CURRENT DRIVER INSTALLED: 177.66 (new driver) TOTAL VIDEO MEMORY: 831 MB (128 MB DEDICATED - 703 MB SHARED) Well those were the general specs that are mostly required to solve several problems. My problem and questions are as follows. (1) Can I overclock my Notebook GPU... If yes, please tell me the software which I can use to OVERCLOCK it and the DRIVER which will enable it to overclock because after reading the forums, I found out that most driver lock the GPU and it makes it unable to overclock. (2)I do not have a cooler so tell me what is the max. overclock that I can go without a cooler. (3)Does the overclock voids warranty? If yes, how would the manufacturer know that I overclocked the system. (4)Will the Overclock damage the GPU in future? (5)Any alternative ways to improve GPU's performance without overclock? Right now I am using 177.66 drivers and I used Rivatuner but I couldnt overclock it.. I have read many forums about this NVIDIA 7000M GPU. I found out that it is the low-end GPU but I can play all DirectX 9 games on high settings with no lag. I want my GPU to overclock so that I can play high end games such as Crysis, Bioshock e.t.c.. Any help is appreciated... and if any 1 knows the answer to any 1 of my question or problem.. plz reply to this thread... I will be very grateful.. Thanks.. P.S. I am sorry if I posted this in wrong thread. I am a newbie and totally new to these forums.
Bades
Overclock with a program called Rivatuner. Follow the instructions there Use drivers 169.04 or 169.09 to overclock. Increase the clock speeds of the card by 10Mhz each time. Overclocking voids the warranty and can cause extreme damage if you overclock it too much!!! Geforce 7000M wont be able to play high end games like Bioshock or Crysis at all!!! UT3 may work

peterq2
i overclocked both my gpu and cpu and scored over 10,000 in 3dmarkse 2001 ( crap i know ) but b4 the O/C it was only 6,000, with just the gpu oc'ed it went upto 8,000 so the answer to your question is yes clocking the cpu will make it faster. get ntune from nvidia here this will help you O/C your CPU Edited July 21, 2008 by peterq2

Guest Terminator-[Guest Mode]
Windows Aero score is 3.0 and gaming is 3.0 too.. But most people believe that WEI is not good at all.. It doesnt tell you real gaming scores.. You can check out threads of WEI as well.

Michael Marley
Ntune is the only o/c option in vista. In xp riva and atitool will work as wellAlso which drivers are you o/cing with? I don't think so... I used Vista x64 for a while, and O/C worked just fine with RivaTuner.
