Hi,

I own a acer 5684 notebook with a nvidia geforce 7600 card in it, vista as operating system.

About a month ago it died on me while i was working with it.

No way to power-up again so i contacted acer support and my notebook was send to the repair center.

When it came back i f***** up my windows so i tried doing a clean install of the operating system.

No way to install because it always crashed on the video drivers or ^powers up and shows pink dots

Because i knew XP pro was more stable and i own it from my previous pc i installed it thinking i had a Vista problem.

Installation goes fine, all my programs work, but when i try to install any other video driver than the standard vga driver my screen goes pink dots again and crashes.

Pink dots or any kind of graphical artifact is usually a sign of video card failure. I would have Acer take it back again for repairs.

Hope this helps!
